His admitting it at the podium was refreshing.

It'd be cool if we see the $29m or whatever it is worth of Frank Clark we're paying him this season the rest of the way. That'd make a big difference.

RunKC 11-03-2021 08:35 AM

Frank Clark doesn’t suck. Frank Clark wasn’t trying. Frank Clark was being lazy.

Look how much better the pass rush was when Jones was inside and Frank gave a ****? Now you add Ingram on the other side of that with Reed too?

That’s a ****ing GOOD pass rush if they Jones and Clark put the effort in. THAT right there makes the defense way better

Hammock Parties 11-03-2021 08:40 AM

Clark was always putting in effort. It's a lie that this defense was ever lazy.

wachashi 11-03-2021 08:45 AM

Clark's agent needs to be in his ear that he's assuredly getting cut after this year and if he wants another payday he'll need to treat the rest of this season as a contract year. He can make himself a lot more money if he balls out.

He's got kids to feed and lawyers to pay.

A guy making $25 million this year is lazy? That doesn’t make me feel much better.

Little of column A, little of column B.

He's a clearly diminished player. When he goes full tilt, he can be a more effective version of Mike Danna. That has value.

But it's nothing approaching what we gave for him and what we've paid him.

On his good days (snaps) he's at least an asset, but he doesn't appear capable of consistent production due in part to being lazy and undisciplined in the off-season.

He’s way quicker than Danna and has better technique. The tape has shown that when he’s trying. Clay had a gif of that somewhere.

When Frank wants to play he’s actually quite good as we saw in the playoffs in 2019.

I think he got paid and got too comfortable. If he plays like he did on Monday than we are in business

Rainbarrel 11-03-2021 10:21 AM

How guys & rookies are expected to play 17 games and playoffs with 1 bye is bullshit. Shortened careers or take plays off. You can't blame them, then you can.

I think intensity and focus ARE the problems for our defense.

It hurts to tackle someone, no matter what the situation. I imagine tackling in the NFL really hurts. You need to be amped up and ready to ignore the pain to be a good defensive player. This team is not really an amped up type of team.

Taking plays off and not fully committing to a tackle will kill a defense. That's what kills us. imo

That's why we play better defense at the end of the season and in the playoffs, we try harder.

Dude is back. Speed and speed to power. And dominating piece of shit TEs.

We just got, like, our entire pass rush back in two weeks.

Jones healthy and back at DT
Clark healthy and showing the power he had in Seattle (being fat might actually help now)
Ingram coming in hot.

I think this defense is going to vault into the middle of the pack by the end of the year. Sacks going way up.

Hope this is a healthy motivated clark the rest of the way not not just a mirage from playing a shit team. There is hope there because he's played ass against shit lines in the past few games.

staylor26 11-04-2021 11:48 AM

Hopefully the Clark we got Monday night is the Clark we get for the rest of the season.

Between that, moving Jones back inside, and adding Ingram, there’s no reason we shouldn’t see significant improvement in the pass rush.

You combine that with guys like Thornhill and Gay continuing to improve, and this team might be able to surprise some people in the postseason.
