Meh, I should have died 50 times in snowstorms by now according to the local networks

Try dealing with 26 inches on the East coast

Are you getting the ice, too? Shit, it's not going to be fun at all tomorrow in St. Louis(or Chicago).

Probably far enough north to get spared the ice. But we'll get more snow.

Snow is easy to deal with. Ice makes it worse. It's supposed to be as bad as '82(when St. Louis had a lot of snow) and '06(when it was all ice). One of the trees in my yard feel over that winter(in '06). Not fun.

I remember my cousin Philip telling me about the Chicago blizzard of '67. He was hired out of Missouri to come to Chicago and help with snow removal. They were hauling it out of the city in train cars because there was literally no where left to put it.

Oh, I agree, ice/snow is worse. Also, with the exception of a very few areas up here, Chicago is very flat.

But still, 20" of snow is 20" of snow. Thank God I don't have to shovel it.

Same here, that shit pisses me off, I can only recall one time where it was bad enough where they canceled the night before. Those bastards always made us sweat it out, and we still had to do our homework and go to bed on time.

Ameren(the electric company in St. Louis) has brought in workers from other states(Tennessee, Michigan, Wisonsin and Illinois) in case power goes out in the area. And there are salt trucks from those areas coming, too.

My commute involves a mile drive to the train station, a 40 minute train ride to Union Station and then a bus ride to my office downtown. Gotta love public transportation.

LMAO

That's funny because I was preaching to the boys earlier tonight. "You have to assume there WILL be school, so you need to be prepared." Then they canceled at like 8pm, and they were all excited.

EXACTLY! And you're let down because you wasted a perfectly good night still going to bed early. Then, while all of the outlying schools were closed, you had to turn around and go back the next day.

Meh. It's not like they have to make more announcements, there's still the same number of school districts in the Omaha metro area.
