I pretty much give up on following the Chiefs Training Camp thread because it is so freaking massive and moves so quickly. If you miss a few hours (or heaven forbid a day or two) and you're completely behind and playing catch up on reading it the rest of camp.

Training camp sub forum?

The common denominator for the decision to acquire a starting QB via trading for a backup or washed up veteran has been the fact ultimate authority over the franchise ends with someone with the surname of Hunt.

Hideous.

The other reason is Todd Blackledge.

When the Chiefs picked him in the 80s it led to the darkest times in this franchise's history.

If the Chiefs don't draft a R1QB in the next two seasons it will certainly appear more and more likely that a mandate was passed down from the elder Hunt to never invest heavily in a R1QB.

As soon as Blackledge was removed from the equation the Chiefs traded for Steve DeBergDave Krieg which was the actual genesis of their joyous decades-long tryst with retread quarterbacks and regular-season success.

I think it would be more likely that Reid has Vermeil Syndrome, and doesn't want to train a rookie. Yes, they've drafted some rookies in the late rounds, but they haven't asked any of them to start.

Cousins>>>Foles.

Maybe just YOU in particular`can not "judge talent", and should avoid the Noble and Holy Draft Forum? :D

Anywho, I received an email from In58men, and he's wondering what landed him on MU?
He seemed pretty laid back on his last venture in to the site?

So weird that inmen gets banned and treated like shit, but knowmo, franz dickbum, and the 49er goof troop can all run wild unchecked. Dude offers much more than those clowns. This new mod team has some things to fix

Waffle house is good tho, been craving some biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs, this place needs a food thread.

FMB has gone missing.

And Inmem died in an arson attempt on his own house.

Food thread is dead.

Inmen is his sweet baboo, so he stomped his feet and marched off.

I kinda think they left at the same time, maybe butthurt. I tried to carry on, just no interest, I didn't mind catching crap, it was fun while it lasted.

This is fun:D

fwiw, this is my 2 cents:

There is indeed a certain degree of guilty pleasure in watching someone being banned for no particular reason other than the spur of the moment and just mischief-making in general...

i know this from many years of observation and from my interactions with phobia in the early days of my foray into the internet via chiefs planet:

it was fun in an evil sort of way, watching people being ****ed with, as long as it wasn't you, but even then most people would play along and not make a big deal over the guy with the big head (have you seen his head?) having a slightly strange, if not downright perverse at times, sense of humor...

i'm in that camp that misses phobia and his hilarious antics - you know, "in the good old days everything was all roses and unicorns", or whatever...

but things change, people come and go (welcome back fraz!!), new people sometimes bring new attitudes and very different expectations, including looking for a place with a realistic attitude toward our beloved chiefs instead of the ultra-homerism of the other major sites...

unfortunately some of the newer people don't seem to be particularly pleased by the treatment they receive from some posters, and many of them came in during the daface era and justifiably expected things to pretty much go on as they were at that time, which seemed to be very thoughtful and mostly invisible moderation in the background unless it became necessary to do what moderators do - moderate when necessary...

at this point, i agree with the notion that a change in the situation wrt moderation was needed and i totally agree that all of the new blood are solid posters who have displayed noticeable and notable adult tendencies in their postings and such good judgment will serve them well...

however, i'm disappointed that flop, my man of steel, has been promoted to the advisory council..

maybe someone should have talked to him before that decision was made (if in fact they didn' talk to him, i don't know one way or the other)...

he didn't seem too happy the other night, and i can't say that i blame him...

having said that, my position is full steam ahead with a new mod team that will no doubt "rule" when necessary but never arbitrarily or just because someone feels like screwing around by abusing their otherwise inactive mod powers...

you guys have my full support and my deepest sympathies because being a mod is not easy no matter what you do it's wrong to somebody and their friends, all of which will be made more difficult by the current cast of characters around here...

and of course, as if that's not enough, it's rumored that claythan is back under a new mult...

sometimes it seems to me that the more things change the more (other) things tend to stay the same... (no, i did not coin any part of that saying)

carry on... :thumb:

tl;dr version: let's go forward together (humming your favorite hippy countercultral song from the mid-sixties)...

The Draft Forum kicks ass.

i find the draft forum to be very interesting and informative leading up to the draft and i am just a casual fan with no particular expertise when it comes to pro football...

i would be very disappointed if the draft forum were abolished or absorbed into some other sub-forum...

i agee with dane on this one, we need to keep draft forum as is; there is nothing needing to be fixed there...
