Yea, I really don’t have a problem with Sanders here.

There are a couple guys with much better athletic profiles that I would prefer to Sanders, but the guy I would’ve taken is just a damn good football player with versatility. He can play SDE and slide inside on passing downs.

I think I know who you're talking about but we can discuss when he gets picked

I thought you were going to take a RB. LMAO

I'm with you. You're not going to find amazing players with zero red flags in the late 3rd round. You pick and choose the faults and question marks that come with each guy. Sanders is stellar enough in other areas to make up for one or two perceived technique weaknesses.

That's very true, hope he can keep some of his bulk up. With a NFL team it shouldn't be an issue though. They have the best of the best to keep him closer to the 255 number.

After the hate on the LB I just like to mess with you all

Hammering the defense, hard to take an issue with it. WR next?

I got distracted looking at the picture of the giant guy that the Bengals drafted.

I don't think you'll find anyone throwing sticks at you over that one.

Sanders kind of looks to me like the guy who trained for something at the combine (speed) that cut his weight. He's going to fall a bit in stock as a result.

If he can put that weight back on in a positive way, I think there's a real chance he outplays his draft slot.

Reportedly he had been sick and that's why he dropped some weight.

It's a fine pick. I liked Sanders as high as the 2nd going into the combine.

He tested so poorly but I think a lot of that has to do with being sick. I don't think he's a 230 lb player who ran a 4.67. I think he's a 260 lb player who felt like shit and would probably still run a 4.67 with that extra 30 lbs on him.

His wingspan is adequate. And his 40 time was actually pretty good (as was his 10 yard split and shuttle times) for a DE - just not for a guy that weighs 230 lbs.

Sanders putting up those numbers at 260 lbs is in the mix for late 2nd consideration. You're gambling that the weight loss was unintentional and easily resolved and getting him in the late 3rd.

Meanwhile he's an active player with good hands and a solid motor. He has some projection in him as well and could develop into a real nice player in 2-3 years if he can get up nearer 275. I think he even has the frame to do it.

It all comes down to what you think the cause for that 230 lb weigh in was. If you think he cut weight to get his 50 time from 4.9 down to 4.67, well you probably don't draft him at all because that's not an NFL player. But if you think he's a 'true' 4.7 guy at 260+ lbs, you're happy to get him here.

I can buy the latter.
