Was looking at this about the Chiefs SB ring ceremony and came across this article about KU playing WSU. So I guess it's true after all.

It’s official: KU, Wichita State to play men’s basketball game Dec. 30 in Kansas City

Of course, all he will want to talk about is that last game when Embiid was hurt. But let's talk about the all time series.

Kansas leads the all-time series with Wichita State, 12-3. The Jayhawks have won five of the last six meetings.

Embiid was the year before.

Correct. Wichita State was 2014-2015.

That was my least favorite team of the Self era. Perry pissed me off so many times. Also had the Cliff Alexander shit.

Oubre, Graham, and Mason were the only players I really enjoyed that year.

It was my least favorite Self team until '20-21.

The Perry Ellis era was a dark time for KU basketball relatively speaking. He was too good to ever get rid of, but not good enough that he'd ever take the team anywhere meaningful (or ever actually leave the program for that matter).

The 2016 team was really good and barely lost to the eventual champ (thanks to some bogus calls near the end...that remains the only KU loss that I've blamed on officiating).

You're right, although they win that game if Perry Ellis actually shows up. Like at all.

The worst game of his college career may very well have been his last.

I cut 20-21 a lot of slack because Covid made that a screwy year all around.

2018-2019 was bad, but could’ve been completely different without Doke’s injury.

Yeah, the 2019 team was #1 and undefeated before they lost Azubuike and Vick. Probably would've been a final four team at full strength.

Vick was not helping anybody win anything. I wonder if he's ever learned to dribble a basketball.

He was an awesome shooter that year though.
