We need linemen that can stop the run and another LB or safety to quickly erase running lanes.

We can’t just draft a DL like Dee Ford anymore. Those type of guys should be later round projects that are on the field on 3rd and long only.

I...agree. I said he can't be Dee Ford terrible. Also in that superbowl loss, we literally had no pass after the 2nd drive. Pass rush as as big of a issue as run defense that game.

When you're constantly in 2nd and 3 as a defense, you aren't rushing the passer very well.

The Chiefs don't need to overly focus on stopping the run to much, but they can't get gashed like that.

I'd like him as he had shit QBs for his career. I think he'll get his $$$ too. Jets need someone to play WR but maybe they sign Kenny G.

I also would love to have a real dude across at LDE. But they can't afford that. Clowney, when properly motivated and on a good team, can be a really good player.

But he's gonna be cheaper because he's got a shit motor or whatever. Thats how the Chiefs will get bargains.

Marvin Jones may be the sweet spot in FA for WRs

RunKC 03-09-2021 01:05 PM

I think this guy is going to be a big target for us. He’s probably going to be very cheap too. This years Nelson Agholor IMO.

6 ft, 4.39 speed. Good at separating. This is the definition of an Andy Reid WR.

If he doesn't follow Stafford out to LA, he'd be fine as our 2nd WR. I just really hope that I never have to see Sammy Watkins in red and gold again. Or Robinson for that matter.

I think Veach has been so much better at bargain shopping than spending top dollar (aside from Mathieu), so it could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Pretty much.

I just don't think the high end targets are gonna be in the Chiefs wheelhouse this year. Maybe I'm wrong, but they need to look to supplement, not overhaul.

Get those cornerstones in the draft.

Yup. Westbrook got his surgery in early November so he should be roughly 8.5 months into recovery by the time camp starts and 10 months by the time the opener happens. He’ll be fine.

But yeah a guy that young and cheap with that much speed would at worst be a significant upgrade over Robinson.

staylor26 03-09-2021 02:41 PM

I want Josh Reynolds.

Well, I really want Corey Davis, but I’ll settle for Reynolds.

RunKC 03-09-2021 02:43 PM

Would love Josh Reynolds but honestly fear he’ll get paid too much for us.

The market at DE is amazing this year. That market is absolutely flooded.

I’d even be happy with Kerrigan.

We barely use a FB at all.

Draft/sign a move TE and flex him around as needed.

He’s pretty solid for HB. It’s not like Sherman did shit for us anyways, we just need somebody on 3rd and short and at the GL. Morris can pound the ball.

I see a lot of value in that.

I also think Beach wants a 3down linebacker he can pair with WGJ that will allow Spags to transition from as many 3 safety looks, so maybe you’re right.

He won't just take 2M and call it good though. If that's his offer from he Chiefs - 50% less than they paid him in base salary last year - he's going to want to test the FA waters.

And by all means, the Chiefs should wish him well at that point.

I highly doubt anyone is paying a 31 year old safety with speed issues much more than that this offseason.

staylor26 03-09-2021 03:29 PM

Westbrook kind of got lost in the shuffle in a WR group that was frankly not all that good to begin with. He’s also more of a slot guy.

We need an X. There are plenty of good slot guys in the draft.

Kyle Long hasn't been healthy since the end of his rookie deal in 2015. Good player, but worries about room in the ice bath on this team.

Draft a TE to play a role similar to Kelce (Hunter Long in the 3rd?) which would make the 2 TE formations much more dynamic and have someone in place to succeed Kelce. Use incredibly athletic Tershawn Wharton for the 3 or 4 downs a game when a blocking FB is required. Return of the hungry pig.

Potential landing spots for Trent Williams: #49ers, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Indianapolis, Seattle, per Trent Williams on the Cris Collinsworth Podcast.

Whats the context here? Just listing teams he'd like to play for or are we actually showing interest in him?

I just copied and pasted the tweet. I’m still looking into it. Stay tuned!

What I found on Trent Williams.....On the podcast he was predicting where Richard Sherman will end up

“I’m still holding out hope that’s he’s going to be back in whatever locker room I’m in, I can see the Kansas City Chiefs, going in there and helping the defensive backfield”.

I mean, I'd take him.

2nd tier free agents are gonna get alot less than normal this year.

I haven't listened to the Collinsworth podcast but there's a story about it on NFL.com.

Apparently Williams is keen on going back to the 49ers but thinks Sherman would be a good fit in KC.

Before anybody says anything, NO we don’t want Emmanuel Sanders.

We need to reach a deal with him in principle, fly him to KC, and then slam the door in his face and tell him to go to Denver.
