Lol local sports media is already starting the narratives.
Carrington just now: “The Chiefs offensive line has been getting whipped all camp.” |
Quote:
We’ll see what comes of the depth guys on the team this year. I expect one of either Saunders, Wharton, Kaindoh, or Danna next year will be relied upon as a starter |

His guest said, "Yes, I am concerned because Frank is not a good player, so that makes Brown a disaster!" Soren said he is TERRIFIED of this O line!!! |
Dante, your Peter King video is auto playing anyway. Could you delete it and just post the link?

I have not seen a single clip of Frank beating Orlando this camp.

Quote:
I mean I think Brown and the rookies are going to be great but him sayin he's scared of the O-line doesn't mean he's down on them. After all it IS a risk and if it fails it's gonna suck. That said I couldn't be happier than the way things are proceeding. |
Quote:
Petro loves to talk about how irresponsible the Chiefs are with contracts and the cap. "The Bill is coming due one day!!!!!!!!!" It is a quandary for Petro- he needs to keep the Frank sucks narrative going, so can't praise him, even when beating Brown. Frank sucks > Brown sucks even more. |

This happens every year. I mean, EVERY year. OL is generally a reactive position. They respond to what the DL does and the DL responds to the skill players, so OL already starts out behind the 8 ball, so to speak. 1-on-1 drills favor DL players. Mike DeVito and Jeff Allen recently discussed this very issue in a KC Sports Network podcast. Both of them agreed that, particularly early in camp, Andy Heck works the OL a lot harder than the DL is worked, in part because of what is required of the OL. Jeff Allen talked about how the first few weeks of camp are frustrating because the DL initially walks all over the OL, particularly in 1-on-1s. Allen said that after 2-3 weeks in pads, not just camp but in padded practices, the DL pressures begin to become more and more familiar and they are better able to resist DL pressure. Put another way, it always takes the OL a few weeks to catch up to the DL from the start of camp. So, if in another 2 weeks, after several more padded practices, the OL is still losing heavily to the DL, I will start to worry. Otherwise, this happens every camp and Petro is talking out his ass, which I know comes as a tremendous surprise to others here. |

Walter Payton used to do that after practice. Have to love the hard work and effort. |
Frank Clark is a really good player when he wants to be.

Clarks playing for a new contract either here or elsewhere so I expect a good year.

Petro’s been on vacation for a week and hasn’t watched shit, so he has to drop a bomb his first day back to get everyone’s attention. So transparent.

The most interesting thing I heard today...on Cody and Gold I think? They talked about how the D line is rotating differently and is more interchangeable. They all can play every position. They will not only be moving Jones around but Wharton, Dana and Reed, even Nnadi. We will always have a fresh Dawg in there. Jones has been Nasty. He has beaten every O line on the field. Reed and Wharton have been dominating as well. |

Where does everybody get that the OL is getting their shit pushed in?
Everything I’ve seen makes it sound like it’s been back and forth, and very competitive. |

at least we don't have brooke or KK anymore, guys
take what you can get |
Quote:
That, and a lot of people don’t understand that it takes new O-lines a while to mesh together. I would be freaked out about our defense if we weren’t looking good at this stage with as many new OL that we have. |
Quote:
It’s absolutely a false narrative. |
They’ve struggled some in team periods. Shit guys it’s ok. They’re all new.
The ol is a unit It’s gonna take some time |
Quote:
I don’t think I’ve seen Thuney, Humphrey, or Smith struggle at all though. It really looks like we’re going to have an elite G-C-G combo. I think our tackles will at least be a well above average duo too. All that adds up to a top 5 offensive line. |
610 is for dating advice, 810 is audio yellow pages.
|
I love the dichotomy of:
1) the OL rebuild failed because the T are getting beat in some early training camp drills by Chris Jones 2) DE position sucks! Either 1 is true or 2 is true. Both cannot be. |
Quote:
And trivia. Don’t forget that 810 is the 247 trivia channel. |
The O-Line will be much better than last year. Calm your tits.

Now I don’t believe they’re both true now. Full stop. But in reality they can both be true. |

I'm eager to see what happens this weekend. Generally, the 1st team doesn't play more than a series or 2, but with only 3 preseason games and a brand new line, I'd hope Andy has most of them in (Kelce, PMII, and Hill excluded) in for more than the usual.
