Yes, when you watch KU play Okie State this year, you can see that KU is obviously the more athletic team and the crowd is not that over whelming. They were just flat for whatever reason. The last game of the conference where they were losing at home with 5 minutes left against a top 20 team, that lets be honest had no business hanging with KU at home causes some to doubt Self.

IMHO, Self is the best coach in college BB. No one is better. Take the two examples above, whatever was going on at Okie state, he turned it around. He took a time out and got the team to bring its "A" game against IS.

When we look back on this era in the future wherever it ends, we will wish we had a coach as good as Self.

Our perimeter defense is atrocious.

Only when the guards "hedge" to help on someone driving the lane, then the ball gets kicked out and 3 ball on the way. When they stay locked on their man, as far as Graham and Mason, they are very solid defensively. But playing the hedge, it seems, is what coach wants most of the time.

They have one good win. It's not even a question IMO. Crazy how a team w/ 1 top 50 win is a bubble team...but 1 with 2 top 25 wins and 4 top 50 is not. WSU should be toast. And the fact that other teams have time to build on their resume is not good for them. They'll be a top seed in the NIT though.

I agree. I like WSU, but they have struggled down the stretch last few weeks.

We're close to tourney time my friends.

Big 12 should be a shit show (for the 4th straight year).

Booted him from the thread. If you're going to troll, at least mix it up.

Self will always play defense inside out. Always. Forever. Almost every other coach on the planet does too. Sometimes they are slow rotating, but that's not self.

That's why drive and dish is so widely adopted. It works.

I'm gonna be down at the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City on Thurs and Friday. It's always a good time, can't wait. If I see Weatherwax, dont worry guys, I'll punch him right in the face. Right in the face.

Although in most cases bittersweet, I love this time of year. Only 1 team can win it all, and 1 bad game can end a really good season. Other than watching Chiefs games/NFL playoffs etc this is my favorite sports event, more so than college football. This conference hasn't been great in the NCAA tournament outside of KU. They get 6-7 teams in usually, but most are out of it after the first weekend and outside of KU, no one makes it to the Final Four. Who was the last team other than KU to make a Final Four, Texas in early 2000's ??? I also think Barnes had a few elite 8's under his watch. Other than that, the league hasn't fared well in the big dance. We're going to find out really soon whether the Big12 is a legit league or if it's another paper tiger. KU's had some good competition to get themselves ready to go up against anyone in the dance. Michigan St, Kentucky, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Iowa St have all been top 10 teams at some point in the season. They've played close games and have generally closed them out as the winner and I think that can help in terms of experience...but you also can't really do anything about a team that won't miss, which KU has been a victim of before and it can happen at any point in the dance. Guess we're going to see. It does help that KU will get the overall #1 seed so they get to play close to home.

Yeah, I've gotten used to the craziness over the years, so I enjoy the chaos for what it is... and between Embiid's injury and being soft, the past couple years have been pretty predictable.

I would have basically said the same thing about this team a month ago as far as softness, but it's been impressive watching them collectively grow a pair... hopefully we get to watch them in several more games. If not, for god's sake just don't be the first 1 to go down to a 16.

A single game elimination tournament isn't going to prove whether the Big 12 is good. The 30+ game season before it kind of did that already.
