The last time KU wasn't assured of at least a share of the B12 going into the final day was 2008 (they beat A&M on the road to tie Texas at 13-3).
It looks like that's going to be the case this year, although they'll know where they stand before they play at Baylor on Saturday night as KSU plays at OSU during the afternoon. OSU is the favorite in that one and I suspect Smart will get it done as he usually does, but KSU keeps finding ways to pull out unlikely victories. Maybe they'll keep doing it. Of course, this is all assuming that KU beats Tech and KSU beats TCU. But yeah, both of those things should happen. |

As for "pressure", KU never has "pressure". They play in hostile places everywhere every year, they play in endless big games. They have the League and then National tourneys coming up. I doubt they're going to worry abotu Baylor when the big fish are waiting. Winning the league has become boring anyway for us. |

And that's why you stay away from Brothers. That place is a cesspool.

My cab driver from the Lawrence train station confirmed the story as well. He said the word was that Ben may have a broken nose..hopefully that was merely an exaggeration.

Oy, I know they're kids and they will go out and have fun, but this shit is so unnecessary.

On a brighter note, I found this link. It's a website dedicated to the 1988 National Champs. It has a nice little 6 minute video and interviews with some of the players.
http://www.themiraclesmovie.com/ For me personally this was what really woke me up to KU basketball. I was a little kid and I had heard of the Kansas Jayhawks and Danny Manning but at that time I was in love with the Royals. I just remember at Sunday dinner the day before the game, at my grandma's house, some of my cousins were talking about the game and how OU was going to smash Kansas. I took offense, not knowing anything about basketball or the teams really. I was just offended that my family would root for anyone playing against our home state. The next night I listened to the whole game on my radio. I was hooked. It helped me connect since the star player had the same first name as I do. I had taken a hat and flipped it upside down, sticking the bill in the crack above my closet door. I had a little foam ball that I was pretending to be Danny Manning with, scoring from all over my bedroom right along with Danny and the Miracles. My family and I moved to Indiana several months later, but Kansas stayed with me and if not for the 88 Champs I may have ended up an IU fan! |
For everyone attending the game tomorrow night remember Wiggins will be in the house!!! Make him feel welcome! RCJH! :)
