Well, here's where it gets a little tricky. We know Reid wanted Smith badly. And once that was done, and then Daniel brought in, it clearly spelled the end of any possibility of a high round QB pick. ANY pick, all the way down to the third.
There's no way in all heaven or hell that a coach is going to put real competition against "his" guy, right off the bat(hence the acquisition of Daniel). Axl is getting his shot for at least a couple of seasons because Reid wants it that way. Reid believes in him.

So, to answer your question; I didn't win the war of 2013 but unlike Carl, Peeholi, and their gaggle of shit-clowns, I DO believe that Reid/Dorsey will pull the trigger when they find the prospect that can lead this team.

Then what is the ****ing point of all the bitching? If you feel like that's behind us, then why ****ing complain about last years offseason and draft continously? Especially when, all things considered, it looks like good moves all around. Reid has a good history of keeping a decent level of QB competition and development on the sideline. The constant posting truefan gifs and constantly being a sourpuss when things are looking good has to be a miserable existence.

The truth is that he didn't like much of what he saw in the 2013 draft at the QB position, grabbing Smith and Daniels pretty much proves that. I agree with you that I think there is a very good chance of Dorsey taking a guy like Rodgers with a high pick if the value is good and letting him learn the offense for a few seasons. Smith is the transition guy we need right now, and it doesn't hurt that we can win some games in the meantime.

If there is anything worth being supremely bitter about it's about not having the first pick in 2012.

Lets look at the numbers that are meaningful.

Geno: 3-2 with 8 INTs
Alex: 5-0 with 3 INTs (almost 3 times as few)

The picks alone are killer, especially if you look at WHEN he throws them, with the game on the line. I'll take the guy that takes care of the ball and in the process helps us in the clock management department.

It's all about taking the shot. Playing it safe for the long haul is a losing philosophy, as has been clearly and abundantly evidenced by this franchise.

The only thing I've gone back and forth with you on is the fact that Eric Fisher is playing like shit, and as the #1 overall pick in the draft and a non-QB, that's ****ing inexcusable. I guess I look at Fischer the same way I look at Geno....it's too soon to see him as a boon or bust. But if his play doesn't improve then he becomes the next Brian Jozwiak.

But I also remember a first round guy many years ago that had a poor rookie season and many were calling him a bust. Luckily they got him a buddy to play the other side of the defensive line and the rest was history.
