The argument that many really good QB's have been drafted in the 2nd and 3rd rounds lately was used by people skeptical of drafting Geno at 1, and dismissed by the Geno crowd. You can't have it both ways.

I'm actually more upset that we wasted those picks on Alex Smith now. We would have been in a position to get a quarterback today, be it Geno or Barkley. And we'll be in the same exact position a year from now, sitting in the second round, saying "wow, there's a really great player available but we gave this pick up for Alex ****ing Smith."

Exactly! Too many fans willing to settle for mediocrity can't see this though.

that's nice, good to see you can't handle it that you were wrong, suggest you neg rep me some more now for being right in the 1st place...

I never neg repped people if they put up legitimate criticisms of Geno's game.

Judging by your rep, I imagine the extent of your football conversation was "lol geno suks"

That's because it was assumed the QBs being drafted in those rounds were the likes of Zac Dysert, Matt Scott, and Landry Jones.

Not Geno Smith and Matt Barkley. Who are BOTH still available.

To everyone but us, and our brilliant "we got a QB in the second round!" alex smith trade. (Dorsey said this last night...)

I LOVE the Fisher pick and seeing how it all went down and who's still available, I'm with ya regarding your QB take.

nope, wrong again, i'll go back and get it if you want, you neg repped me simply because you didn't like my opinion although i did give legitimate reasons or at least a legitimate opinion

my basic stance was that #1 was way over the top for Geno although i think he COULD still be a good or even great QB, i hoped for a trade down that still involved potentially grabbing Geno albeit at a later spot OR as it turned out a trade for another QB as a stop gap for a year or two while we find the franchise QB

alas, no hard feelings bro, it is what it is, i'll delete that other post if you like, just say the word

Your mocks were a who's who of select posters' favorites. Don't act like you had any true opinions of your own.

Pest is one of the more knowledgeable posters here. If he didn't have any football opinions, then you may as well say nobody on here does.

West Virginia QB Geno Smith has decided to remain in New York and will be attending the draft tonight in Radio City Music Hall.

I still don't think #1 was over the top, because I don't think there's any real talent separation between the players available now and the players drafted in the top 10 yesterday. That's just the kind of draft that this was and is. Which is why not having a 2nd round pick is such a travesty.

Good advice from his PR people there.

You're comparing apples and potatoes. And poorly at that. Geno's new team: http://www.arenafootball.com/

Sounds like his agent gave him the Don Corleone "act like a man!" speech
