That Hollywood Brown trade was agreed to well in advance - he's already in Arizona.

Ojabo at 50 makes a ton of sense now that we don't desperately need an edge this year.

Chiefs covered two definite team needs tonight. If we can land David Ojabo at 50 (possible trade up), than hopefully Christian Watson, the draft would be an A+++ through the 2nd round. At 6' 4" and a 4.36/ 40, I like Watson over Pickens.

Kingbury said only 4 people knew about the trade when he was on the McAfee show earlier.

I think Veach overall did well considering how the first round unfolded and with the WR’s quickly flying off the board. He addressed the Chiefs two most pressing needs on defense.

However barring something drastic happening, the Chiefs are entering 2022 with JuJu, MVS and Hardman as their top three WR’s… that’s unsettling.

And yes the Chiefs will likely draft a WR or two during the next two days, but the history of rookie middle round WR’s having an immediate impact in Andy Reid’s offense is not good. Tyreek was a gadget player/non-starter during his rookie season.

Again I am not blaming Veach for anything, but this is the reality of the Chiefs current situation at WR.

That Chiefs can still get Sam Williams and John Metchie.

Now THAT would be a HR first 2 rounds.

Right?!

Or a half dozen other DL.

And hell, Tolbert and Pickens aren’t out of the question.

I just don’t understand how someone can’t come out of this one pleased.

There is NO mystery why we didn’t go WR in the 1st. After Burks went at #18, that was the last legit 1st round WR. Watson, Moore, Metchie and Pickens are all 2nd round value guys. I’m confident we’ll snag one of them tomorrow. We got really good value with our two picks in the 1st round, and I’m pumped that we we were able to score McDuffie at 21. It’s a good day, boys!

The floor on these picks opens the board up for us a TON.

Doesn't have to be addressed in the draft. There will be summer cuts and trade opportunities.

I hope that 2/3 picks tomorrow go to defense. WR will be fine but if one falls to 62 then it might be worth a look.

Defense should be the main concentration though.

Finishing up my bourbon and thinking - besides the Jets and Eagles - did anyone have a better night than KC? Especially considering where we were picking?

The Panthers didn’t panic and reach. I give them credit for that.

The Lions did pretty well I think but they should have.

Jets seem like the winners of the night on paper, but I think our first round was a B+.

The Giants had a great night too.

But considering where those teams were picking and having multiple early picks, the Chief did as well as anybody.

Most importantly, the Chiefs did better than Buffalo, LA, and the Bengals.

The Chargers going guard in round 1 was pretty baffling.
