It could very much be like halftime of the Eagles game... oh yeah, they're pretty damn good. Or an also familiar feeling of nah... we got this. I think it'll be a close game down to the end and would take Mahomes and this defense into that kind of battle ever single time. |

The breeze on Sunday could be tough, and it may very well come down to the kicking game. |
They need to work that into their chant:
DddddddddVvvvvvvvvvOoooooooooAaaaaaaaaaaaaa |
I am enjoying everyone talking up the ravens like the chiefs have no shot.
The bills said we had zero. Now they are all bragging we can't get past the ravens. Hopefully our dline amps it up. Because they will need too. |

Mitch calling for Spags to blitz a lot bc Lamar is 1st in QBR vs 4 man rushes

It’s funny all the Chiefs fans disagree with me and all the Ravens fans who watch him the most are like yup you know ball. His numbers are absolutely skewed though...they run up scores so his good games turn into 300 yard 5 td 50 pointers.

Lamar has a negative EPA vs. 2-high looks this year.
|
Remember the plan against the Eagles and Hurts on MNF...ya that's what's coming. Slot blitz roulette over and over

I'd definitely bring a lot of exotic looks for Lamar to try and figure out. Blitz often but falling back into run containment at times is fine. I'm really hoping Gay can play to be the spy.

Athletic picked the Ravens 7-1. They picked the Bills similarly last week.
This is a good omen. |

I think he gets into a focus-level and flow state that isn't achievable for a mere mortal. And it's why he's got a ridiculouis 38-7 TD/INT ratio in 16 playoff games. The motivation probably only harnesses his focus and intent even more, but I don't think he needs it either to get into flow. |

Nate Tice on the The Athletic Football Show podcast said that when the Chiefs blitzed, they allowed only ONE scramble during the entire regular season.
That is damn impressive. |

Yeah, we are thin at DT again with Nnadi out. He’s not great but he’s a big dude that’s tough to move. Those guys get tired quick when their snap count starts creeping up.

He gets moved a bit too easily on early downs. So we seem to see Dickerson as a true Nose (we use Wharton more as a 3T). But I thought Ferrell looked far better in his limited run than anything we got from Dickerson. And I'd be willing to spin the wheel and take my chances on Buggs. |

Injury update
After not practicing on Wednesday, Pacheco worked in a team walkthrough on Thursday but was held out of afternoon practice once again. Returning to close out the week was a good sign for Pacheco heading into the weekend. He's officially questionable for the AFC title game but is expected to play. The good news for the Chiefs is safety Mike Edwards progressed to full participation in practice on Friday after not working on Wednesday and being limited on Thursday. He's listed as questionable for Sunday's game, although there's growing optimism that he could clear concussion protocol in time to play. Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. is questionable as he continues to work through a neck injury. He was a limited participant in Wednesday and Thursday's practices but didn't work at all on Friday. Gay played just 11 defensive snaps last Sunday before exiting the Bills game. He's a critical part of Kansas City's game plan against rushing quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson, so his status is a huge one to watch over the weekend With Nnadi out, expect veteran Mike Pennel to step back into his role along the defensive line. In the Divisional Round, he played a season-high 40 snaps. |

Everyone knows what they say to WRs over the middle and LBers in coverage, right? "Head on a swivel" What do y'all think that 'swivel' is, fellas?!? If the guy can't turn his head, he can't play football. He's trying. I think he'll give it a go on Sunday. But man, when those nerves get fired up, they're REALLY hard to calm down. I have a bad C7 and if that disc pinches, it's a pretty acute problem for 3-5 days and a lingering problem that can be aggravated fairly easily for another week or so after that. I feel for the guy. He knows this is his moment. It's his time to shine in a matchup that could REALLY allow him to stand out. Athleticism vs. athleticism vs a guy largely considered one of the most athletic players in the league at any position in Lamar Jackson. Well, except for by the Ravens fans, who insist he's just really smart. But setting them aside for a moment, Gay could stand out on a national stage here by doing what he's best at. And his body isn't wanting to cooporate. That suuuuuuuuucks for him. I know he's probably gone but I'll miss him. Dude's energy is awesome and he's been a lot of fun to have in KC. I hope he gets out there and kicks ass on his way to a massive bag somewhere. |

Some people really forget just how athletic Leo Chenal is. A guy that big running a 4.53 40 is insane. He's gonna be Willlie's replacement.
And while that 4.53 and below 7 cone is definitely above the 90th percentile for a LB, Willie is just a bit faster and also better in pass coverage. Against Josh Allen that's not a big deal but Lamar is a legit 4.4 guy with superior athleticism. Really hope Willie can play |
So who is spying Lamar if Gay can’t go… Tranquill?
|
That’s it. Chiefs have zero chance.
They wouldn’t be more screwed if they drank a box of wine with the WWE execs and found someone swinging a barb wire wrapped mick foley rubber dong at them. Congratulations on the Dub Baltimore fans. Be sure to light those celebratory riot fires in food locations. |

It's probably why he went out early. If your neck is stiff, it's not like you can't turn it, it's more that it hurts like holy hell when you do. And when the adrenaline/energy gets up, he's going to. And if he's not sound, he'll be out. If he is, he'll keep at it. I don't think a guy like Gay, most LBers for that matter, can truly play at half speed to compensate for an injury. They're like racehorses; they'll run themselves until they drop. |

The Detroit gear has to go somewhere too. |
I'll take solace in that we've got Drue.
You can do a lot worse than that. Him and Bolton is our smartest LB duo. |
