Worked hard on my form for kettlebell presses today, and it payed off.

Crazy how compressing the abs and crushing the grip on the kettlebell adds power and strength to the press. I'm excited and stoked to keep working with this exercise now. Here's a good .pdf on it.

And, it didn't hurt while it was under strain, but as soon as I racked the weight, I just had a shooting pain. I stuck with the heavy (for me) sets on the bench up until the last set, then I just dropped it to a plate on each side and cranked out 15. Just to get some work in.

I did 135 on the incline as well and went light with shoulder presses. Oddly, I was able to crank out dips like crazy. Actually, now that I think about it, dips are the last exercise I do, and if I went light on nearly everything else, of course I had an easier time with dips.

Well, I am going to ice down my shoulder and take an Advil.

You need to check your form. Make sure you aren't flaring your elbows out to the side. Turn your elbows in. This will keep the load off of your shoulders and on your chest where it belongs.

I had a pretty good one today. Take tomorrow off. Get back after it on Wednesday.

Weighed myself today and I'm up to 163 lbs, while still cutting some fat (that's a good thing for me).

Really I've only told one group of friends I go see all the time and my roommates. Every time I go down there they want me to go eat something with them and one time I was fasting and didn't want to. I tried the I'm not hungry approach but my stomach was growling so I finally just said I'm fasting.

My roommates are pretty cool about it though.

How many calories for how much ice cream?

salame 06-08-2010 03:50 AM

If I use a whey protein powder with 3g per creatine per serving as part of my breakfast will this make me gain weight while having no real effect on my workouts?

Silock 06-08-2010 04:34 AM

Not enough information to say.

Workout before breakfast? How many calories are you taking in total each day?

You need:
70-120g of protein per day
Creatine after a workout
Caloric deficit to lose fat
Good weight training program in order to put on muscle mass

the protein powder already has creatine mixed in it
I eat breakfast before I work out
I try to keep my calories under or at 2,000

Okay... So? You don't need/have to eat before a workout.

I will definitely check that the next time I am in the gym. I'll just bench the bar and see how I do it.

I'm losing my desire to work out. I have been eating between 1300 and 1500 calories per day and seing almost a daily change on the scale. This is causing me not to have motivation to go to the gym when I am losing weight just by diet alone.

Omaha 06-08-2010 09:22 AM

Bike ride scheduled for tonight if the weather allows it. Possibly lifting over lunch if workload allows it. Fingers are crossed.
