I made almost exactly the same post last week. It's a weird year but ought to make for a hell of a tournament.

This could be an epic tournament. I'd bet money that at least one #2 seed goes down in the first round. With the teams all having 4 losses... shit a #1 could go down. Doubtful, but if it were to happen, this would be the year.

I don't agree w/ this at all.

It's win or go home...either they want a Final Four or they don't.

If this team didn't go through that weird 3-week funk they'd be #1 in the nation and we wouldn't even be talking about this.

Personally when firing on all cylinders, KU's the best team in the nation, and I think they could beat anyone...anywhere. I would love to have that MichSt game back, I don't know what Self's problem is with no being able to ever beat Tom Izzo.

I thought KU would lose to OhioSt at their place. I also thought they'd be KU's only loss heading into NCAA tourney. Things change. But while KU's had their problems....others are starting to have theirs now, at the worst possible time. Meanwhile KU shook that off and now has their shit together.

Anything other than a national championship game will be a failure IMO.

I was just thinking about MSU yesterday. I want to play them again bad.

Yeah, when KU is playing on all cylinders is soo ****ing fun to watch. If we can play like we have the past couple games, we are a definite final 4 team. Another final four to follow up a championship game season... HUGE for recruiting.

Some of you are making it sound like a 25-4 year is a bad year.

I'm just realistic. Losing 3 games in a row, including a loss to TCU doesn't seem like a #1 seed resume. But, when you look at all of the other shitty teams out there this year... we are definitely one of the top teams. It's just weird this year.

I want another national title. I'm hungry. After this Chiefs season we deserve it! Lol

For the team to play to their potential, they need either EJ or Tharpe to play well. It makes the offense much, much better and creates open shots for two incredibly efficient shooters in McLemore and Releford. EJ has been getting the job done over the last two weeks.

It's a weird year, definitely and yeah, the TCU loss is bad. But really, it's the only bad loss. Assuming we win tonight & Saturday and don't completely flake out in the tourney, I don't see how we aren't a #1.

I just wanna win a game in the B12 tourney. I could give two poops about that.

I'm taking the opposite approach, if for no other reason than keeping my sanity during the tournament. But, one good reason would be that one possible 1 seed has lost to TCU and another has lost to Wake Forest... and another that was at least a #2 until mid-February lost to Penn State.

On one hand, it is one of those years where if they don't make it all that far, we might look back at the path they would have had to a NC and think they really missed their chance... but, OTOH, like last year, I didn't really know what to expect at the beginning of the year and I'm happy keeping expectations low. And after watching them pull out so many close victories in the tournament last year, it wouldn't surprise me if one went the other way this year (granted, if there's one coach in the country I trust in a close game, it would obviously be Self).

teedubya 03-04-2013 06:02 PM

**** yeah, I get to watch this in my hotel room here in Silicon Valley, while I work. Kick Ass. I'm glad I don't have to watch it in shitty quality on the iPad.

KC_Connection 03-04-2013 06:03 PM

I didn't know Releford scored 36 on Saturday.
