Not your mamma but this is Alex Smith. Sooner you get used to it, the easier life will be. Wouldn't be surprised to see him have a huge game next game just to get peoples hopes up, then crush them with a mediocre game the next.

It sure is frustrating to watch sometimes, but it wins a majority of games.

One of these niner fans made a good point about Axl in the game thread, he has to have a strong run game to look good, if Reids trying to make him a pure passer it isnt gonna work.

He hasn't had a huge game all year.

What in Reid's history would say he's gonna do that?

It's what we've talked about all year, it's gonna be a passing offense

Where is this huge game you are talking about? He never has any huge games. The guy has 3 300 yard games in his ENTIRE CAREER.

Where are the Alex Smith nuthuggers after today's game? The dude was missing wide open receivers all day. The Avery fumble was his fault. He couldn't keep his eyes downfield. Awful.

I hear you, but he might wanna rethink his position.

I said yesterday estalishing the running game will make Alex Smith look better, but I don't see how anybody can make excuses for some of these passes he threw today. Missing the long ball is understandable, the avery fumble was not his fault but a questionable decision to throw it to him in the first place.

But last week and this week he threw some Teebow-like passes, and passes that were behind guys. If we can't establish the run with Jamal,Alex might have to go back to running the ball more maybe to open things up. We really need to run the ball as we have a superstar in JC,but we all know Andys not going to do that so it is what it is

The Avery fumble was all on Smith. You can't leave your WR standing there waiting for you to throw the ball and not expect DBs to read that. Then you can't rainbow it to him. He absolutely left Avery flapping in the wind.

Rewatch the play. Avery is sitting waiting for the ball to come out for like 3 seconds. Then there is a rainbow throw. Then there are DBs who are ready to blast him upon reception because of the time the play took to develop. Unacceptable.

So he had time to catch it, make a football move then fumble, but the defender was right there?

If you want to blast smith for being indecisive and missing open wrs, fine, it's deserved.

But blaming another guys fumble on him is getting a little witch hunty

Three7s 10-13-2013 02:46 PM

And to think we could've had Geno Smith for that 2nd rounder.
