Cutting a CB thinking it's going to solve your defensive problems is just as dumb as giving a huge contract to a corner thinking it's going to turn your defense around. Routt hasn't been great but if the front 7 was doing their job this wouldn't happen.

I think it was a good move actually. I saw that SOB quit at the end of the game last week. Cutting him is setting an example.
Might as well see how good Arenas can be outside or if Brown is gonna look any better. Nothing to lose. Plus wouldn't we owe Routt a lot of money next year anyway? |
Other than attitude, this doesn't make a lot of sense. Routt played well this season. He was in position to make plays. And even had 2 picks. We forget he had a tipped ball for a td against at TB him which was luck. And one the wr made a helluva jump over grab. He wasnt that flag drawing db we thought he was and imo, he WAS coached up.
I guess if he was a cancer then its best for the team but he's lived up to his paycheck if you ask me. |

And where are you getting your stats from? |

With Routt's deal, it would have been feasible to tag Carr and let the two battle for the '13 roster spot. But that would have required inking Bowe. |

Routt graded out as one of the worst corners in the league...there's no two ways about it. Did you even watch the Raiders game? Horrible. He has been toasted all year and was never a good player. Ever. |
I bet he was intercepting too many of cassel's passes in practice.

Dear Mr. Pioli, I only have one thing to say.
|
At this point, Pioli and his crew should be shit-canned for their numerous blunders. Sabatoged.
