Very true, I'm in.

I wonder if Tom Moore would have taken an offensive coordinator position or if he was even interested

mcaj22 03-06-2012 10:54 PM

problem with Miami is Peyton will have to bust his ass just to make the playoffs in that division

there is a high chance Miami doesnt make the playoffs even with Peyton.

I'll guarantee that Moore would join the staff as a senior offensive assistant if Peyton came here.

"Matt Cassel is our starting QB. He went 10-6 in 2010 with 27 tds and 7 ints."

I bet everybody, including those inside the Chiefs organization, are laughing at this quote now that a future HOFer is a free agent.

Mr_Tomahawk 03-06-2012 10:58 PM

Cassel's playbook consists of shapes drawn with crayons and pages stained with oil from fish-sticks...

Um...we're going to have a new offense anyway. ANY team that signs Manning will be playing his offense or one extremely similar to it. If you expect Manning to sign here and game manage a checkdown-a-thon you have extremely low expectations in addition to being insane.

Edit* Hell...this team lacked any sort of offensive identity last season. We have a new OC. Run whatever Peyton wants to run...it is going to change regardless with Daboll.

Not like the Chiefs have a standard at OC. I would be willing to bet that if the Chiefs did land Peyton, they would be more than willing to let him have the reins......Unlike Cassel who would require much intervention on play calling and a host of draft picks and F/A pick ups to shoulder the weight around him on offense. How much more does this team need to build on offense via draft and free agency to make him a competent QB?

I understand building around your QB but, really?

Seahawks are willing to not only pay Manning and sign Wayne, but also adjust the offense to what Manning is accustomed to running.

If this is true the Chiefs aren't getting Manning.

If you have just signed a future HOFer who supposedly is more motivated than ever...you do whatever he wants.

I don't think Manning is attached to Wayne at the hip... he may want to start over. Just because you work well with someone doesn't mean you always follow that person around the country and go where they are going.

kcxiv 03-06-2012 11:04 PM

i have 0 doubts that the Chiefs would change offenses to suit manning. Thats a no brainer. We just gotta wait and see how this all goes down. I think Manning will have a team picked close to the draft. I doubt he drags that shit on as teams have to make moves. Anyways. NO matter what the Chiefs can wait til the very end. Its notlike we are in a position to sign a top tier qb in the draft. lol
