In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter if you slam a shake after lifting, or wait 20 mins until your home and just eat and big meal. The minute you mix something with your shake (milk/banana/pb) or drink it with a meal, your slowing the digestion down anyway. All that matters is at the end of the day, you hit your daily macros. Whether its 300g of protein over 6 meals, or 2, it doesnt matter.

Nice job with the weight loss, keep up the hard work!

Ah. I do the slow digesting for breakfast in the morning and after my workout (which is usually after work). I don't mis anything with it. Right now, I'm taking in about 200g of protein over 6 meals.

It's weird (to me). Back when I was counting calories and trying to just stick to under 1300 per day, I always felt hungry. Now, my main focus is trying to get my protein in. I average 1200 calories per day, and I'm never hungry.

I actually cut out a lot of carbs whenever I started focusing on lean protein. I no longer drink soda. I only have a teaspoon of mayo with a can of tuna, and just about the only time I have any bread or pasta is during my cheat meal for the week. I'm doing okay with what I'm doing now. I got lucky in that my PT is also a nutrition specialist (although, I'm finding that most lifters are VERY knowledgeable about nutrition).

You know what really satiates me and is good for you? Apples. Pretty much all I ever eat for breakfast anymore is an apple or two. Maybe some eggs and tomatoes a couple times a week.

I haven't eaten cereal in years. I think eating cereal for breakfast is complete nonsense.

That's Buck. I keep my carbs low, though.

You should add some protein with this. Boil up a carton of eggs each week and have two with breakfast.

Eh. Most days I have an apple for breakfast, go work out, come home and slug a 50g protein shake. Lunch varies. In the evening I usually have two chicken breasts for dinner with vegetables. Is adding two eggs to that really gonna be that big a deal, besides extra calories?

If you like eggs & tomatoes, you should try scrambled eggs with salsa. I've been eating 6 scrambled with salsa at least 5 days a week for the last two years, i just never get tired of it. I'm also hooked on cinnamon raisen ezekial bread.. shits like crack.

If your low on dietary fats, then yes, its a big deal.

Yeah, I do that. Actually I really enjoy rotel in eggs. Ratchet-ass meal, though.

Also chopping up a few fresh chives in eggs is the bomb.

I like honey nut cheerios - those and pretzel thins are about as crazy as I get w/ purchases at the market place. Maybe cheeses - but who cares there?

Simply Red 03-20-2014 10:19 AM

tomatoes and eggs are a great idea. I like that.
