Is LeBron pushing this? He knows they have no shot vs GS with or without Kyrie and his plan to leave Cleveland for LA next year has been obvious for quite some time. If Kyrie leaves town before him, it certainly makes his inevitable move much more palatable/understandable (for those that care about that sort of thing).
