I said that if they let him blast away at Sutton, he'd simply start looking for bigger game and Reid/teammates would be next. Of course this happened - when you let a guy's behavior continue to go unchecked, he's not going to get better; he'll get worse.

The fact that they waited until AFTER all that to suspend him is an indictment on the team. They needed to put a hand on the tiller way before they did.

You're right.

I doubt my guy will know about anything they tried to do to help him.

That's what I'm saying, if the Browns passed, that's a big red flag. They have more draft capital and a serious need.

I suppose in your fantasy land where Alex Smith is a "franchise QB", trading away a 25 year old Pro Bowl shutdown CB is a smart move.

If Marcus Peters was a gigantic headache, fought with teammates, called his mother a ****, pushed her three times, got suspended, had unsportsmanlike penalties time and time again, asked to be traded and stated he'd never re-sign with the Chiefs, then Brett Veach, Andy Reid and Clark Hunt made the best decision possible by trading Peters for at least a 1st round pick.

I'm not sure why that's so difficult to comprehend.

Oh, wait...

Crazy, isn't it? It's a real pity that NFL team owners don't realize that there are a plethora of unemployed GMs here on CP who know a lot more than the men they've hired to do that job.

I think it is more an indication that Dorsey and Co. knew Peters would sign long term with them. Why give up a ton of picks if you only get a headcase for 2 years. The Rams' defense is a beast and I imagine they feel that adding Peters puts them over the top, and helps kick the shit out of Jimmy G.

now only if we would hold our coaching staff as accountable as we do our players....

You could build an All Pro roster with the players the Cleveland Browns have passed on over the years.

It is officially confirmed... Clark Hunt is not committed to winning a Super Bowl.

You don't trade away a 25 year old Pro Bowl shutdown CB if you are committed to winning a Super Bowl.

Also given Clark's role on the NFL's Los Angeles Re-Location Sub-Committee, is he trying to help make the Rams better to enhance the NFL's investment in Los Angeles?

Clark Hunt is a gutless fraud and a loser just like his father.

This move confirms it.

Move along, your choice to be a fan. Later

Better hope that Bob Sutton starts kneeling for the National Anthem and upsets Clark's local Midwest-bred sponsors.

That's the only way to get Clark to hold people accountable apparently.

But it's possible that the Chiefs did try to help him before that and no one outside of the organization would know for sure.

I understand that Reid has an unusually long rope for talented but troubled players but it's difficult for me to believe that he or the organization just ignored his obvious troubles.

Keep in mind, this is the same organization that had Tyreek Hill in counseling immediately.

Nah he's just a bad guy for owning a team that makes moves that don't win jack shit.
