And another thing, Gary Payton doesn't deserve a ring. He can't play defense anymore.

Great take I agree. Once LA quits attacking the rim and playing D it's over. This has been very disappointing.

Frankly I don't know why they don't go to Shaq on every play it was working. If Kobe isn't feeding him then Phil needs to step in.

Yes I agree......Shaq could have 50+ points every game if they would just feed him the ball...dude is unstoppable for any team under the basket......Kobe's ego got the best of him I guess......understandable....he wants to be the next Jordan..

Garcia Bronco 06-14-2004 10:06 AM

I'm telling you...the reason they didn't give Shaq the ball late was because he couldn't get open. They couldn't get the ball to him all night. When they did though he proved why he's just a big man under the rim. Beyond that...his D is weak...moving without the ball is something he doesn't do well..all he does is literally avoid 3-sec violations and hang by the rim.

Doesn't have the feel of him staying at this point either which is one of the reasons I was hoping they would win this championship.

PBJ Pistons 3-1!!!!!! WooWoo

I want the Fakers to lose just so I can see LA riot :bang: !!!!!!!

The Pistons have gone back to their old ways, "The Jordan Rules" days. Before, they would kick the crap out of MJ and let the rest of the team win the games, now they let Shaq and Kobe score what ever they want and shut down the rest of the team. Genius, just genius. No way can that duo combine for 70 points per night!

Yeah if they Lose this series..Id say Kobe is DEFINENATLY a goner.....Come on Kobe....come to San Antonio.....Duncan, Kobe and Parker would be sweet!!!

I'm a pedestrian basketball fan but I dont think Kobe is going to do well away from LA. I mean, just from what I have seen in two games of this series, teams figure Shaq is going to be himself but they can key on Kobe and get bad games out of him. What's going to happen when he doesn't have Shaq on his team?

The proverbial 'blueprint', I guess, the rest of the league will see how detroit did him and be ready to try the same thing next year.

I may actually watch my first NBA game in 2 years on Tuesday. I figure the refs will continue to let ol' mumble whisper throw elbows into the head/neck/chest of the defender and charge into the lane to dunk the ball...

Should be quite a hoot.

What does this series say about defense?

All you defense homers are right. But your offense has to be efective enough to score and Detroits definitely is.

I really dug all the motown bumpers during the game yesterday. Brought back a lot of great memories from summers past.

Sac doesn't play D....Dallas doesn't play D...Minny doesn't play D...the Spurs can D up...Denver can't play D(basketball)...starting to see a trend here?
