Undoubtedly. He's competent. That alone is a massive upgrade.

Alex Smith isn't winning anything of note here. He is a waste of our time, and their careers.

The fact you don't get that is hilarious.

If Geno turns out to be a good QB who's to say he couldn't take a good team to a SB in his first four or five seasons?

You tell 'em Tiger!!

It's coming from the people saying Geno has NO CHANCE and Alex Smith ABSOLUTELY CAN TAKE US TO A SUPER BOWL.

That is bullshit.

Geno is a rookie. He was the main offensive force on his team Sunday, and won.

This place would be going ****ing nuts right now if the Chiefs had hosted the Bucs and Geno had made plays to lead us to a win with Charles being shut down.

Instead, I've been stuck reading about awesome Alex Smith's 5 YPA was while his defense pitched a shutout, effectively meaning he had to do almost nothing to win the game.

Pathetic.

O.city 09-11-2013 08:02 PM

This is the same guy who said the jags would run for nearly 200 yards on the chiefs. He's obviously a football Nostradamus

Definitive proof exist for Alex Smith even if you chose to ignore it.

Geno has been on a spiral since about game 6 of his college season.

You are going to burn down in flames over this one.

And let me point this out before hand so it is not misunderstood, or misquoted.

Geno haters are going to overreact tomorrow if the Jets struggle.

And they probably will. Road teams on Thursday night games, last year played very poorly.

First road game of this kids career, with only a short week to get ready for a Hoodie game plan.

This could get ugly fast.

Well, of course.

The team that Geno was able to avoid completely embarrassing himself against on Sunday, Tampa, is one of the worst teams in the league and they found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in the closing seconds.

Going on the road to face a good team and a good QB isn't going to be like the home field Jets/Bucs pillowfight from a couple of days ago.

The guy threw for 256 yards, and another 47 rushing, and directed four scoring drives.

He brought his team back from deficits of 14-5 and 17-15.

He had 303 yards all by himself. The Jets as a team had 304.

Not impressive in the least.

And I would swallow it, because I can admit when a player I dislike does well.

But NO ONE wants to acknowledge what Geno did Sunday. There's this idea that he was shitty the whole game and was only saved by a flag.

I was very ecstatic when he made 2 TD passes and we were up 14-2 and then helped us get the lead to 21-2. 3 redzone trips 3 TD's.

**** yea. Then I wanted JC out of the game, Smith out of the game and anybody else we didn't need.

He didn't need an amazing penalty to gift us the game. We beat the shit out of the shitty Jags. We didnt gimp by the shitty Bucs.

Rushing yards allowed they were #1 in the league, which to clays point is probably why the jets couldnt run at all. Added 2 significant upgrades to their passing defense. They are a good defense, and it will show the later the year gets.

Could be, time will tell.

This game was an example of the stat posted earlier, that the higher rated QB wins the game about 70% of the time in the NFL today. Fortunately for the Jets, they were facing Josh Freeman, who posted a 67.9 rating that day.

The Bucs were only 37% on third downs, they only rushed for 60 yards, and they had over 100 yards in penalties.

It's hard to put any stock in this game when it was such a tardfight.

If he ever winds up on the Chiefs he will probably have either have sucked in New York and will be our back up. Or, will be old and far past his prime.

Pressure in his face almost instantly. Throws his receiver open and would have converted a third down with a sensational pass had it not been dropped.

You got it kid. You got it. Welcome to the big leagues. Fire a laser into that window betwixt receiver and sideline. SKIN THAT SMOKEWAGON!

Pressure in his face almost instantly. Throws his receiver open and would have converted a third down with a sensational pass had it not been dropped.

What's that? You want a conversion on third and 11? GENO DELIVERS A STRIKE.

What's third? Third and 8? No one open? Observe the superior athlete at work. FIRST DOWN.

LOOK AT GENO RIFLE THAT BALL BITCHES!

I SAID RIFLE IT, GENO! RIGHT ON THE MONEY!

Look at this kid. The improvisation. The arm to rocket it in there. The accuracy on the move. Fire it in there, Geno. You were born to do this.

You got it kid. You got it. Welcome to the big leagues. Fire a laser into that window betwixt receiver and sideline. SKIN THAT SMOKEWAGON!

Oh crap, a defender right in his face! Falling backwards! No problem. Beautiful screen! /DaneMcCloud

Admit it. You're all jealous. And this was his first game.

And he won.

SNR, Sweet Daddy Hate...you're welcome.

At this point this is completely irrelevant to the Chiefs, and is just you childishly and pathetically trying to prove you were right. It is embarrassing to watch. You are trying way too hard to prove a point that doesn't matter at all. Geno Smith is not the QB of the Chiefs. Alex Smith is.

And look at the poll you started - you got your ass kicked in it.

This is a Chiefs board. If you want to suck Geno's cock this much you might want to go to a Jets board.

As for me, I'm done with this stupid shit, and done feeding the trolls. I am tired of watching you make a complete fool of yourself.

This thread's purpose is to track Geno's career vs Alex's.

Yes, I am absolutely obsessed with the fact that we chose one over the other.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but those GIFs are QB sex.

Alex Smith as a rookie in 2005:

9 games
87/165 50.9%
875 yards
97.2 yards per game
1 TD 11 INT

Yeah, Geno's really ****ed, ain't he. He'll never be as good as Alex Smith

Absolutely. It's already set in stone according to many here.

Jets fans really exciteed about Geno.

His running ability is really a weapon, but what stood out the most, was Geno's poise, wow, he was unflappable, extremely poised, he may have made mistakes a rookie makes, but his demeanor, confidence, and poise was nothing like a rookie, it was of a QB who was confident, and was never overwhelmed by the moment, that is HUGE, Geno had a great first game, if this is a sign of things to come, we have a lot to look forward to.

Then after the game, taking the blame for the INT, saying he had "everything" to improve on, wow, just a great first day.

Hammock Parties 09-12-2013 03:29 AM

Oh yes. Perhaps more like a 1st rounder?

@ChrisWesseling

Geno Smith made history. First QB drafted in 2nd round or later to pass for 250+ yards and win on Kickoff Weekend since 1970 merger.

I guess if CP was your life, you'd see this as a big deal and spend dozens of hours a week being some other team's QB's PR department

I liked Geno, but the funny thing about those GIFs is that even if you want to slurp over all the first bunch, the last one tells you all you need to know about the reasons he fell to the 2nd, passed over by every team in football like a piece of garbage, and why he'll never lead a team anywhere.
