Since '82:

Sixteen playoff appearances, 19 playoff series won, seven pennants, three titles. Only nine losing seasons and one this century.

Royals: Four playoff appearances, 7 playoff series won, three pennants, two titles. Twenty-eight losing seasons, and 14 this century.

****, you've had less success than the Marlins since their inception.

Max hasn’t been much in the playoffs in his career, so there’s that. He did pitch well in G4 last week I suppose. Gotta get that team into their bullpen which Mikolas did last night. That’s the first time I saw him throw, he’s got a wide variety of junk that’s really hard to square up. He’s a guy who can be effective 5 more years.

Marcellus 10-12-2019 12:39 PM

Nzoner must have caught a serious case of the ass about the Cards being in the NLCS to come in here with that ridiculous bullshit argument. LMAO

Here you go fill this out and turn it in.

NZoner? He's a well respected, liked, and tenured member. We all love him to death. Sports arguments are just dumb. Taking them seriously is dummerer.

BigRedChief 10-12-2019 01:24 PM

No lineup changes from Schildt. Says he first want to do anything like a knee jerk reaction. Hey Schildt, have you looked at Carpenters offensive stats lately? It’s not a recent thing. Have you seen how Fowler is killing us in missed oppertunites? It’s not a recent thing.

It's really just a diet Matheny approach. Martinez gets endless opportunities, Gallegos gets pulled after a single batter. Carpenter, Fowler, and DeJong murder the offense endlessly, and in the case of the former two play terrible/lazy defense, but none of the young OFs get a chance.

The ****ing scoreboard. Most franchises don't come back from 19-34 and I doubt even a pompous horses ass like yourself could find any other team in major league history that's had to come back in the 8thinning twice in elimination games.

Cardinals were down to their last strike twice in the same game and still won a WS. **** the Nats resilience.

George Liquor 10-12-2019 03:03 PM

O/U 3.5 runs scored this entire series for STL?

kcpasco 10-12-2019 03:04 PM

Nobody in the starting lineup has had a hit in 17 innings. LOL

BigRedChief 10-12-2019 03:06 PM

Those Fowler and Carpenter AB’s were as embrassingly pathetic as it gets. But, no need for a knee jerk reaction. It’s only the NLCS. Your 1-52 in your last AB’s. No urgency needed.

Jewish Rabbi 10-12-2019 03:35 PM

This is just ****ing hilarious at this point. Can’t wait to watch the “Worst NLCS team ever” video on YouTube in 5 years.

'Hamas' Jenkins 10-12-2019 03:39 PM

It's a terrible offense with a horrible hitting philosophy. Still, the ineptness is staggering.

Yeah. The team the Nationals are playing, who did it twice down to their last strike, in the ****ing World Series, and who were 11 back in late August and came back to win the WS, and who were 4-0 in elimination games.

Get out, clueless ****.

George Liquor 10-12-2019 03:44 PM

Just ****ing hit Scherzer in the ribs his next AB and get to the bullpen.

bsroyals54 10-12-2019 03:44 PM

when did Carpenter turn into a bag of shit , he had a great year last year

candyman 10-12-2019 03:45 PM

I guess the Cards used all of their offense for the rest of the playoffs up in that first inning against the Braves.

Dejong might have just given Scherzer another inning with that 1 pitch out.

no this is who we are. The offense disappears for games at a time all year. But, treating this like it’s April, the no urgency, no trying a different approach, line up or players in a NLCS is very frustrating. Maybe a different line up or players will have the same result but we know this ain’t working.

jd1020 10-12-2019 04:02 PM

The Astros and Yankees might score more runs before the end of the 1st inning than these 2 teams will score combined in the entire series.

bsroyals54 10-12-2019 04:03 PM

Astros vs Yankees is the real World Series, the fact 1 of them has to play an NL team at the end is just a formality

We need to get more than 1 hit off of the Nats starting pitching before we worry about their bullpen.

Can't contain Adam Eaton

George Liquor 10-12-2019 04:38 PM

Eaton completely misreads that ball and looks like Michael Jordan catching it

These guys look like an overmatched little league team

BigRedChief 10-12-2019 05:12 PM

Going up there swinging regardless of the pitch, location etc. guessing on the pitch. The Nationals only had 1 hit through 7 innings but they too soooo much better AB’s than the Cardinals. Waino was great. Our hitters, offensive approach is pathetic.

Missouri teams have won 14% of the World Series since 1982. That's not bad in the scheme of things. Been in 40% of the World Series this decade and have won 20% of the World Series titles this decade. Not bad at all.

I was thinking they should have announced Pete Kosma as the Honary captain for the game just to **** with the Nationals.

On a serious note, Surely the offense can’t have 3 horrible games in a row, right? Two great outings by our starting pitching wasted. Waste another Flaherty start too? Took Carp out of the lineup but Fowler still leading off. Doubt it makes a difference.

I know its not going to happen because its Molina and game 3 of the NLCS when you trail by 2 games, but I would have benched Molina after that effort. Misses a ball that wasn't even that far away and didn't even bounce and then practically walks to go pick it up. Wtf?
