I would think they thought it would be played in the next 2-3 days.

That old saying “Two wrongs don’t make a right.” Bengals screwed themselves by being the nice guy. And then the NFL decided to really bend over Cincy in a major way. The game should have been played by Wednesday night or a forfeit by Buffalo.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Zach Taylor is getting punished for trying to do the right thing. I'm sure he was expecting the Bills to do the honorable thing: to either play or forfeit. But they ended up stabbing him in the back with this move.

They got a mostly guaranteed 2 seed, didn't have to play the Bengals, and got a potential AFCCG in a stadium where they lose playoff games moved to a neutral site.

Worked out fairly well I suppose.

100% they used the situation to their advantage knowing the media and public sentiment was on their side.

He shoulda pulled a Belichick, stood on the field demanding to play...the NFL couldn't treat it this way if he had.

And it should not be Pittsburgh or anywhere else in the Northeast. Go with Seattle, Arizona, Atlanta, Los Angeles, etc. Maybe even one of those college bowl game locations in Orlando.

The Bengals were rolling in first quarter of that game. About to go up 14-3. They should be riding high with a chance at the 1 seed this week.

Atlanta is the most reasonable place - but again not having HFA is bullshit.

They should have to come to Arrowhead

BigRock 01-06-2023 05:13 PM

The Bills will get theirs. They'll be sympathetic favorites for a minute but if the Bengals have to go to Buffalo in a couple weeks, that tide's going to turn quick.

This stupid narrative will never end.

I'm sure Zach Taylor is going to become a more cynical person and a harder-edged coach as a result of this. Entire Bengals organization & fanbase should have a cutthroat mentality in the coming years.

Weren't they at like midfield/40ish?

KCUnited 01-06-2023 05:20 PM

We hadn't even reached the worst turnover rate in the redzone for a QB phase of the game
