There's probably some playing with regionals...
Kansas got regional preference, so either Chicago or Louisville
UNC got regional preference, so you can't put Villanova in the East
They wanted to give MSU regional preference for being #5, so they didn't want to put KU in Chicago.
Since KU moves to Louisville, Xavier can't be there, too (105 miles away).
That leaves OU or Villanova in Louisville.

OK, that all makes some sense. But explain away facing the best #16 seed instead of the worst (by their own rankings)? :)

I didn't because I couldn't... the only thing I can think of would be knowing your opponent versus waiting, but then they should be playing Hampton. :shrug:

I agree. After the first game every team is vulnerable to a motivated team if they try to phone it in and not bring their "A" game.

You get to the sweet 16 you are going to play someone tough. Elite 8 someone capable of winning against anyone.

Our path is way better than North Carolina. I'd rather play Maryland, Cali, UConn etc than a Big 12 team again.

TCU fired Trent Johnson. Assuming Ford goes as well, that's two new coaches in the conference next season. KSU, of course, remains stuck with Bruce (after missing the NIT).

I heard the talking heads saying that the Big 12 would be split up in the tournament because it was unfair to as them to play each other early in the tournament. Doesn't really matter though does it, the field is set.

We have no idea that Maryland or Cali even makes it to us. Shit happens in the tournament.:shrug:
