Yep that is the ONLY reason. It had nothing to do with talent and being tied to a player long term.

It seems extra douchey today. I guess from one perspective that's people taking their medicine, but it's like nobody knows how to win gracefully anymore.

ya, leaving doesn't show much leadership...

pretty unfrotunate move on his part...that said, he needs to look at the big picture..he'll play in the NFL...

If you believe their coaching staff and the staff's comments in the press, they are committed to Gabbert. That's what they say anyway.

Gabbert has never had any stability around him, they've had one offensive system after another, and they have a lot of holes on defense.

Sure, maybe they didn't expect Geno Fontaine to be available and will decide they can't pass on their next David Garrard, but I'd be a little surprised.

I didn't want Geno, but drafting a left tackle is safe. The Chiefs picked the wrong year to suck.

So not true. It's all timing and building a foundation. Makes more sense to draft a stud Tackle than a medicore QB. If Luck or RGIII type (or even Flacco) would have been there, the Chiefs would have drafted a QB. Now they have folks in place who can protect said QB.

And BTW Michael Oher was a first round Tackle - and the Ravens won the Super Bowl. I bet if you look at the rosters of Super Bowl Champions, many have Tackles drafted in the first round...

He left with two picks left which was Dallas and Baltimore. It was okay to leave the green room at that point.

Well, there is certainly that, AND he also sucks.

How is that Matt Barkley of yours doing? Where was he drafted in the first again?
Those guys on the QB side that wouldn't hear anything. Just wanted to curse and slam deserve a lot of distain for their actions along with the reality of where those QBs will be taken eventually.

THE ALL SUCK AND ARE NOT AND WERE NOT WORTH THE #1 OVERALL.
Not even Tyler Wilson that I originally hoped would be good.

It will be interesting to see whether Gabbert can be salvaged now that he'll have both Joeckel and Monroe protecting him. He always seemed to have a lot of trouble when pressured at Mizzou, but when he has time, he can be pretty impressive.

Yeah they PICKED that year and it is their fault. They have to pay more than there not being a QB worthy of the pick.

TexanGuy 04-26-2013 08:31 AM

I've been reading this forum for about a month or so, and I must say - seems like like all the Geno supporters now are eating serious crow.

I'm a Texan fan myself and have nothing against the Chiefs. The Fisher selection seems solid even though people on here were pouting left and right not to get him. Fans here ARE passionate though and that's terrific.

ChiefBoyRDEE 04-26-2013 08:31 AM

AR prioritizes OT, DE, and CB along with QB

he obviously just didn't think Geno was the guy and apparently everyone else in the NFL agrees with him

don't be surprised to see a QB taken by AR in this draft, it ain't over yet
