I'm guessing Carl tells them he couldn't do it, and wound up shooting a round into the ground/wall, so Rick tries to bring her out.

My thoughts:

-- Carol is alive.
-- Lori is dead (cheers). I will say that the way the whole scene went down was amaze balls. I was up out of my chair when Maggie cut her. And then having Carl finish her off. Pretty F'ing raw.
-- T-Dogg will be missed. I liked him.
-- The group isn't getting smaller, 2 lost, 2 gained. For now...

As for the above quote regarding Rick and the axe, comic spoiler.

They replaced him with another black character, and they added a female black character to the cast.

I'm really not a prick (mostly)....but honestly I think the baby added to the storyline is going to become tedious rather quickly.
I must admit....I was kind hoping the baby would be zombified. you gotta admit that woulda been epic!

Deberg_1990 11-05-2012 09:03 AM

So.....Was the prisoner who opened the gate working with the other two guys? They seemed to know each other, but the black guy turned once he gained a respect for Rick.

So far im really enjoying this season better than any of them. Its seems like a more cohesive whole after Darabont left. I like the group split up and a double storyline. Makes things more compelling.

So im guessing Merle will eventually defy the Governor and go seek out his brother. Thats going to set up an interesting storyline....Does Daryle stay loyal to the group(now that hes changed) or his brother?

Ceej 11-05-2012 09:08 AM

I swore that black guy was in the episode when Rick murdered Tomas.

Rick chased him down and locked his ass out in the courtyard with walkers.

And i also remember hearing him scream as if he was devoured.

just assuming it is the same guy.

So what did happen in the comics with this?

why was Rick crying like a bitch at the end and falling down like that in front of his son? He wasn't even interested in the baby. The way Rick has transformed, it just doesn't make sense.

He resented Lori, he didn't full on despise her. Her actions inn the last year don't wipe out their last 20 years... Very humanizing moment.

That would explain why Carl is handling her 'death' so much better than Rick is (of course, I also am wondering if Carl isn't becoming a little sociopath-in-training).

I was also wondering why they didn't put a bullet in T-Dog's skull as they went by.

It's a foregone conclusion that Axel and Oscar will join the group. If nothing else, from a storytelling standpoint, they need a new mechanic.

I have not read the comics, so I don't know if this is in it or not, but . . .
Spoiler!

They either have a warehouse full of golf balls, or that's a one-and-done kind of hobby to have.

I don't think T-Dog was necessarily leading her TO anyplace other than safety. It's not like they'd spent enough time inside to even get their bearings straight. The door Carol went out led to daylight. I doubt she was with Lori when Carl fired that shot. MAYBE she doubled back looking for the group and ran across Lori. MAYBE.

Hell, even if Lori isn't dead, they may only keep her alive long enough to see her child and say goodbye to Rick...

I think Lori lives somehow. Maybe Carol finds her and patches her up? My .02.

dlphg9 11-05-2012 10:58 AM

What is Carol going to patch her up with, its not like its a minor wound. It's an incision in the abdomen and in her uterus. I never really figured out how they would fix her up even if they had everyone there to help.

Dude, it's TV. I don't know. Prison has an infirmary. I don't know. The fact that they didn't show the little ****er killing her leaves the door open.

Carl found the infirmary didn't he and they already used it on Hershel.

It would be pretty corny if Lori makes a recovery from that, I hope they realize that. I don't think that's something you can patch up primitively.

Carl's gonna show up in two episodes with a walking zombie pet in shackles without arms, jaw or belly. Wonder who it's gonna be....

Bowser 11-05-2012 01:12 PM

Ok, is Lori dead? I ask only because of this - on Talking Dead, they had the guy on that played T Dog. They went way over the top in telling him goodbye, how much of a fan he's become, blahblahblah. Never once did Lori receive similar acknowledgement. Based on that alone, is there a chance she is still alive, and either Rick or Carol find her, barely alive?

I know I'm putting my life on the line suggesting such things, but I figured it needed to be asked, so apologies in advance!

QuickSsurfer, feel free to use that same gif on me that you used on the other guy. Heh.

Was the actress that plays Lori on as well? If not, I wouldn't read too much into it. I'm thinking (hoping) that Lori is gone for good.

That room only had one door. Carol would of had to pass them to get to lori.

I don't know how they will spin it, but both are alive. There would not be enough vagina without them.

Aries Walker 11-05-2012 09:55 PM

They're in the process of recruiting a new mechanic as well. Dale 2.0, but with a funkier mustache.

KcMizzou 11-05-2012 11:37 PM

I thought Rick's reaction to the news was the best acting we've seen in the series we've seen so far. I bought it.

KC_Connection 11-06-2012 03:28 AM

Nooooo....T-Dog (give him credit, though, he made it all the way to Season 3). Oh and Lori, too, I guess. Certainly didn't see that coming so soon into this season.

That episode packed an emotional punch. It might have been the best one since the series premiere really. Didn't expect this show to make such progress like this, but they're on the right track.

He was already starting to go this way before Lori's death, but I see Rick further becoming more like Shane was last season with no remorse for anything or anyone standing in his way and his goals. I'm guessing the meeting of the groups (and Rick's impending confrontation with the Governor) won't come until the end of this season the way they're pacing things right now.

Also noticed that the Governor mentioned a daughter with him that we haven't seen at all. Just a tad suspicious considering his hobby of sitting in a room surrounded by zombie heads in tanks.

Might it have something to do with him having just lost his wife (his first family loss since the show began)? As for the baby, pretty sure he believes it was Shane's.

Aries Walker 11-06-2012 06:12 AM

I liked T-Dog's reaction to knowing he was going to die. He made peace with God and sacrificed himself so that Carol would escape (which she did, by the way). That was more character than he had developed in more than a year.

It's just too bad they won't have a 'reuniting with Merle' scene now.

Oh, just wait. The writers are sick puppies. Merle will probably keep T-Dog's undead corpse as a pet.

You all should check out the preview for next week on AMC's website. Glenn is digging three graves so either they just assume Carol is worm-food, (or she really is) or someone else bit it.

The show is moving at a great pace this year and lots of action, but the writing is horribly predictable.

Head writer: "Okay, we are going to kill off [insert name] in this episode. We need 4-5 lines about 4 minutes before they die that make them sympathetic."

Yup. Some weeks I don't get a chance to watch it until later in the week, and I avoid this thread like the zombie plague until I get caught up. It should be common sense that people are going to be discussing the most recent episode as soon as it airs.
