My biggest thing was that they made some decision before the game started today.
Al the very least they did do that...

The things people have to do everyday just to survive. Makes the NFL so out of touch. Considering the good charity work they do, looks bad

It has nothing to do with the Bills getting an "imaginary" win.

But it is though. If they had lost or tied the game should it have been played to completion, then the Chiefs could have won the 1 seed with full HFA. But now if we both win that gets taken away.
I have no problem with the game being stopped but it should have been played on Wednesday. The NFL has really catered to the Bills this year and it looks really bad in my opinion.

1. Changed the overtime rules because Joshy didn't get the Ball even though the same thing happened to Mahomes previously.
2. Moved a snow game against a rushing based team (Anyone remember when they lost in the snow to the Patriots with Mac Jones throwing like 2 or 3 passes?) to a dome which favors their offensive skillset. They did this rather than moving up the game (Like the Chiefs had to do in 2005 when they moved up a game to Friday with 2 days notice which made the Chiefs the first team to have to fly and play the same day I think) or moving it back.
3. Allowed them to cancel a game they were losing without forfeit.
4. Completely ignored their own rulebook and created a fantasy scenario for PR purposes to allow them the benefit of not playing one of their hardest games of the season which again I will emphasize they were losing at the time.
5. Basically ensures that even if they lose the 1 seed to KC that they won't have to play in Arrowhead again this postseason.

To see it all laid out like this really is enough to make you puke your guts out.

What a goddamn joke.

The problem with all of this is that you're griping about losing the CHANCE that the Bills would lose, and the Bills are griping about the CHANCE of winning and preventing us from getting the 1 seed at all. You can't claim that we were cheated out of the former without acknowledging that it might have gone the latter direction just as easily.

Look, if it's hard to understand that the Chiefs came out the best out of this situation by far, here it is by the numbers:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-conversation="none"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">If we take Seth&#39;s calculations at face value, then relative to a 50/50 coin flip of CIN-BUF (or if game had actually been played), the NFL effectively took 26% of BUF&#39;s chances for 1 seed, and 8% of CIN&#39;s chances for a 1 seed, and gave it all to the Chiefs (51% --&gt; 85% for KC) <a href="https://t.co/QmmUG1edOO">pic.twitter.com/QmmUG1edOO</a></p>&mdash; Computer Cowboy (@benbbaldwin) <a href="https://twitter.com/benbbaldwin/status/1611448163356889088?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 6, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Yes, we lost the chance of HFA in one game, but it's hard to argue that we didn't benefit from this.

I believe strongly that the Bills were headed towards a loss on Monday night before the game got stopped. I also believe we'll beat the Raiders today. How am I supposed to believe that all of this nonsense somehow benefits the Chiefs?

If they both win this weekend, that would be the case anyway. If the Bengals win and the Bills lose to the Patriots, then they should just go off the regular tie-breaking procedure like their first game never existed.

Like I've been saying, both teams agreed to the no contest and acting like the game never existed (even if the Bengals were trying to be nice or whatever), they shouldn't turn around and compensate the Bengals in any way when it comes to Bills vs Bengals in the standings just because it was the Bills' player who got hurt.

This really is an incredible breakdown of unprecedented bullshit.

The problem is, with Damar stabile and improving they should have finished the game...Period. Do you think if the Bills would have came out and said "We want to try and keep the one seed and keep on a path of our ultimate goal of winning a Superbowl for Damar and the City of Buffalo", that this game wouldn't have resumed Tuesday or Wednesday. They knew it was a tall task down 2 starting Dbacks and were most likely to lose. As others have pointed out, if they were up 24-7 or playing the AZ Cardinals 1 qtr. in, do they choose to resume the game? We know the answer...

If we're going to make this a debate about how accurately a rival fan with a ton of rooting interest against the Bills can predict the outcome of a game...I don't really know what we're doing here. Even if you assume that the Bengals were 70% likely to win that game (which is more than the models would suggest), we STILL come out well ahead statistically (since the "no contest" immediately takes that 70% and makes it 100%).

The Bengals agreed to the no contest with the current rules in place. In that situation, they could have rested players this weekend and basically had an extended bye as they were locked into the 3 with a guaranteed home playoff game. The NFL moved the goalpost by deviating from their rule book on Thursday Eve...

Any team with Tom Brady.
