I'm starving, the kids are asleep, my wife is in Baltimore on a business trip, & I don't have any awesome food. Shit!

I'm finally starting to get some relief from plantar fasciitis. I was told not to do anything without my arch support inserts. Any connection between PF & barefoot running?

Well, the connection is that it's supposed to help. No, you won't have arch supports, but the idea is that by running barefoot without them, your arches will naturally strengthen, and you'll alleviate the problems associated with PF.

That makes perfect sense. Is it much different than the shoes that are supposed to simulate barefoot running?

No, that's what I wear. I'm currently wearing Vibrams, but I'm not sure I'm going to continue running in them because they keep giving me blisters in between my toes due to the way they fit. I may have to switch to Aqua socks or Nike Frees.

Ah. Got it. Once my foot gets better I might try that. It seems pretty cool. After 4 months of pain, I don't want to risk the progress I've seen lately.

Do I need to do this barefoot shit?

Need is such a strong word. It may not work for you, but I don't see why it wouldn't. It's pretty ****ing badass, though.

LetsSignRussell 06-24-2010 11:18 PM

excuse me for jumping in late. What are the benefits?

Silock 06-24-2010 11:23 PM

Less pain, better joint and tissue longevity, more efficient running style, looking like a total badass.

Thank god I don't have to eat stuff like that to lose weight. I would rather stay fat. :D

I'm not trying to lose weight. I enjoy eating healthy, nutritious, fresh, delicious food. You just don't know what you're missing. ;)

I am a picky eater. About the only veggies I eat are green beans, carrots, beans, and potatoes. I don't eat lettuce, onions, peppers or cabbage. I can't stand salad dressing. My wife will find recipes to cook and I will sub out fresh onions for onion powder and stuff like that. I blame my father for this he is just as picky so as a kid I wouldn't eat anything. I have changed a little since becoming an adult and will eat some things that he still won't but I'm very leary about trying new things.
