Looks like the entire state of Kansas is closed today.

WoodDraw 02-01-2011 06:39 AM

Already starting to come down pretty hard.

Sounds like STL might be getting ice? Glad we avoided that shit here. Be safe everyone

We're just getting rain so far (along with lightning strong enough to make the phones rings). Temps already dropping in the area as the front moves through. Hope everyone stays safe.

So what are the snow totals expected for KC Metro?

It's somewhere around "Slow & Painful Death".

Well, the weather forecasters were wrong about the 1-3 inches overnight. At least out south here. But it is snowing hard and heavy now. They actually closed our offices in Mo except Springfield today. Be interesting to see if the snow blower gets challenged this afternoon.

I don't like this snow, but I would much rather deal with this crap than hurricanes.

HonestChieffan 02-01-2011 07:21 AM

Latest I got said KC Metro maybe 10-15 but they keep changing it. Butler and Clinton seem to be the bullseye now..."* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...CRIPPLING SNOW ACCUMULATIONS BETWEEN 10 AND 15 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI AND ADJACENT EASTERN KANSAS...WITH THE HIGHEST ACCUMULATIONS TOWARD CLINTON AND BUTLER. EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE... WHICH MAY LEAD TO RAPID SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF TWO TO THREE INCHES PER HOUR AT TIMES. "

Who said we would get 1-3" in KC overnight? Everywhere I looked said it would not start until around rush hour this morning which has been an accurate prediction.
