Any philosophy like Pete’s is a non-starter. That’s why teams want offensive QB coaches now

Apparently not though, because there are plenty of GMs (many of them making stupid choices) who keep hiring defense-minded guys.

Like, man, I don’t care if Dennis Allen gave everybody in the building hand jobs when he was DC. That was a really stupid hire.

Not losing any sleep over this. This isn't Peyton Manning that's coming to town it's perennial choker Wilson. He's gone 3-6 in his last 9 post-season appearances and that Broncos roster is heavily overrated IMO.

Will this make our path in the division a little rocky? Sure. Does it change things? **** no

You have to wonder why Seattle pulled the trigger and finally traded Wilson?!
Maybe they saw him enter into that decline phase of his career?? You don't make a move like this unless you are absolutely certain.

Last year was a down year for them overall and he missed 2 games for the first time... there isn't a trend to suggest he's on a decline.

Either they expect him to turn into a pumpkin or their evaluation skills should be questioned. Picking Carroll over Wilson sure seems pretty strange to me though.

You mean the year he didn't catch a single touchdown? Or the years he didn't win a playoff game with the Chiefs?

But there is.

2 years in a row where he started out hot then fizzled out down the stretch.

LOL...I can still hear the Chiefs hacking and weezing from the second half of that Bengal's game.

I'm a Chiefs fan, obviously, but the amount of disrespect Russell Wilson is getting in this threat is astonishing. He is a great, great QB. A HOF QB. He had the 2nd part of last year to start to get right after his hand injury. He's going to do wonders for the Broncos. I'd put Wilson ahead of Herbert until Herbert cleans some stuff up. I think Herbert can be better going forward but Russell Wilson is damn good.

Herbert has not even had a season where he's posted a QB rating over 98. Russell Wilson has posted over a 100 QB rating the last 4 years in a row.

This doesn’t necessarily mean anything.

The Patriots just let Tom Brady go and he had a couple fringe-MVP seasons and won another Super Bowl.

The Colts let Manning go in 2011 and he went on to play in another two Super Bowls and won one of them, breaking some records in the process.

I think it comes down to money. His next contract will be around $50M per year. They haggled pretty hard with him over his previous deal at $35M per year. It was way more contentious than it should have been for a superstar player.

LOL...Broncos didn't choke. You'd have to be in contention to choke.

What you’re doing is making excuses.

I don’t blame the Seahawks for limiting him after his hand surgery. That’s a reasonable response. The Y/A is not the end all be all. Patrick had a 7.4 Y/A this season. Should we be worried? Players go through stretches.

Even with that Pete’s dinosaur offense is not a fit for a HOF top 10 QB. Throw the ball. 32 times a game doesn’t cut it. Patrick threw it 38.7 times a game. That’s throwing the ball 20% more every single game. That’s a lot.

A QB throwing 15 TD’s/3 INT’s with a rating over 100 the second half of the season is not playing poorly. My God LMAO

He's a top 6-7 QB in the league right now and throws the best deep ball in the game.
