I think you are overestimating feelings if he leaves. This isn’t a Neil Smith type situation. Tony Gonzalez is still thought of fondly by most Chiefs fans despite the manner of his exit. Jones has given his all to this franchise and now wants one more big payday and if KC can’t afford it, someone else will.

Listen to that Reid interview with Eisen (I believe). That third down play in OT that caused SF to kick a FG was epic. He was exhausted and gave all that he had left and the rest was history.
