I honestly don't know what type of advantage it would give you either way.

You'd get to see the formations the opponent is planning on playing, but that seems a pretty minor advantage (given they'll be giving that away as soon as the game starts).

On the contrary, I think it's a positive and not a negative sign for the program that they are taking the games seriously enough to try to cheat these days. Being compared to Bill Belichick is never a bad thing, especially when you have a history like Canada Soccer does.
