I think he'll start against LAC as well, but we can't overlook the fact that he's not in football shape and doesn't know this offense for shit. There's quite a bit of unknown here.

We have no idea what he's been doing while he was in their plans for the last month. He could be way farther along than anyone knows.

He's right though, the fact that they're even entertaining this with Andy's history and the OL tells you all you need to know.

Chiefs have a great team, with the exceptions being the offensive tackles. Humphries needs to play asap.

But a lot can go wrong between now and then.

I figure the Chiefs would rather wait until the Browns game to play him if they had their druthers, but can you REALLY ask him to play his first game back against Myles Garrett?
Yikes!

Nagy said the team wants Humphries “to play the way that he’s been playing his entire career” and that he knows it won’t be an immediate transition back to playing shape.

“With any player that comes off an injury or that comes to a new team on top of that, it’s going to take some time,” Nagy said, via Adam Teicher of ESPN.com. “And I think you want to make sure that you’re making the best judgment for not just the team but for the player too so they can excel. He’s excited to get in here and just kind of learn what we do and how we do things and be a part of it. . . . He’s experienced so he wants to be able to help out in any way possible, but there’ll be some time involved.”

He could have been running marathons while simultaneously adding nothing but raw muscle - that AIN'T football shape.

We know this. We see it year after year after year.

He hasn't been on an NFL team and therefore has not been participating in organized NFL practices, team sessions, etc...

He's not in football shape. He can't be. That's not exactly the end of the world but it DOES subject him to the possibility of annoying little tweaks and such. Because getting hit by a 260+ lb guy trying to blow his way past/through you is just something that nothing BUT playing football can prepare you for.

I think they'd like to get him on the field as soon as possible. More reps is more value.

But they aren't going to subject him to a torn pec or something if he's out there in practice and struggling to keep his top and bottom halves aligned through contact.

Injuries are often a result of a misstep created by iffy technique. They have to watch him actually do reps before they know when they can realistically expect him to play without risk of injury that would extend into the post-season.

Granted, he’s a giant and all, but could be similar for Wanya.

That Eagles line is just a beast right now.

Yeah, sure Matt.

If this dude isn’t starting against the Chargers, I’ll stop eating red meat.

He’s 100% in shape in terms of agility and strength. He’s a vet he knows what’s needed to be ready physically.

They’ll likely push him in practice a bit like camp. To me it’s really is like camp. First day of pads and after a couple week these guys are ready to hit someone else.

Only worry is rust. Welcome back DJ…now go out there a block Mack/Bosa, Garrett, Hunter/Anderson, Watt and Bonitto.

Goddamn

He's basically a combination of Willie Roaf and Anthony Munoz.

People don't seem to realize that Nate Taylor is never reporting things that he has been told. He's always reporting what he THINKS will happen based on his opinion.

False. He has sources within Arrowhead.
