the drivers are tweeting

Clint Bowyer:
Moderate damage on the 33 exhaust after the 2 car punted the 21. Should be ok, but #helpinghands are monitoring until the next stop.

THe #21 hit him in the door after the #2 wrecked him earlier. I don't think it's hurt too bad though looking at lap times he and the #31 are running.

Dylan 07-02-2011 06:51 PM

How many times will we hear wingman tonight?

lol

What is Kyle Petty yapping about? You always have had to draft at Daytona to stay in the race. But now, if you're the pusher you pretty much have zero chance to win at the end.

Dylan 07-02-2011 06:58 PM

clint's speed lap is good... he's 8 seconds behind the leader

http://www.nascar.com/multimedia/web...c_cid=ss_11_99

they're not at full throttle -- they're hanging back

Al Bundy 07-02-2011 07:04 PM

Taco Bell and Burger King working together? My god, my toilet would hate that.

Dylan 07-02-2011 07:08 PM

Nemo leading the race -- he's DNF'd every race this season

Hey, Prowl :D

Dylan 07-02-2011 07:14 PM

Top 10 so far : Kahne, Vickers, Nemechek, Kvapil, Mears, Cassill, Kyle, Logano, Labonte & Lally.

Edit: Kyle takes the lead

crazy -- this two cars racing together is like two drivers racing one car lol

Old Dog 07-02-2011 07:14 PM

they should be thinking about stops shouldn't they

Old Dog 07-02-2011 07:14 PM

now they mention it as if on cue

Dylan 07-02-2011 07:24 PM

i can't believe the #99 is riding around with all that carbon monoxide -- did they fix it?

Dylan 07-02-2011 07:29 PM

We need a big piled up wreck to liven things up ... http://planetsmilies.net/not-tagged-smiley-14836.gif

Old Dog 07-02-2011 07:32 PM

I was just thinking...."and to think, Daytona and Talladega used to be my favorite races". This is some BORING shit.

Agreed... except for the last 20 laps

Old Dog 07-02-2011 07:34 PM

make it 10 and you've got a deal

Hydrae 07-02-2011 07:35 PM

It looks strange to me having everyone paired up. I am more used to Daytona being one or two trains instead of these little caterpillars.

Dylan 07-02-2011 07:37 PM

I hope Chad Knaus worked his magic under the hood of the 88 & 48 tonight

Escabar Montoya is on the move to the front

Old Dog 07-02-2011 07:38 PM

Was hoping the #33 and 31 would hang out at the back for a while longer

Old Dog 07-02-2011 07:39 PM

ah, they wanna try a 4-car thing

Dylan 07-02-2011 07:49 PM

Jr & Jimmie will make their move with about 15 to go --

the RCR cars were trying the 4 car draft about 20 min, ago

Old Dog 07-02-2011 07:55 PM

why are they not changing 4 tires....they're waiting 10 seconds for fuel. The have time to change left sides

Dylan 07-02-2011 07:57 PM

i like this wide open coverage during the commercials

Dylan 07-02-2011 07:59 PM

I'm waiting for the phantom debris caution

Too funny -- Hamlin and Newman hook up again before leaving pit road

Dylan 07-02-2011 08:00 PM

the drivers pushing are driving blind - unbel.

newman is dangerous at restrictor tracks

Dylan 07-02-2011 08:07 PM

Damn, Junior & JimiJo are about 6/7 seconds back -- I wonder if they're counting on a caution

hope they're not in it -- you know, with the field fillers

Dylan 07-02-2011 08:09 PM

It's getting racy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dylan 07-02-2011 08:11 PM

Newman & Menard up there makes it dangerous

Al Bundy 07-02-2011 08:12 PM

What a save by Gordon. The 4 car had something to do with it as well as the 83, Kenseth and that other POS Ford were going to slow on the bottom side.

Dylan 07-02-2011 08:13 PM

The mini Big One!

That was about 15 cars racing for one position

Dylan 07-02-2011 08:15 PM

Great move by Martin & Jeff G -- that should have been a huge pile up

damn it -- Kyle's tire went down

Dylan 07-02-2011 08:18 PM

****! Jimmie & Junior got separated ... I think Jimmie hooked up with Gordon...

Dylan 07-02-2011 08:20 PM

LOGANO TAKES OUT THE ENTIRE FIELD - Jesus, Mary & Joseph

Kid belongs in nationwide -- You happy Gibbs? because you're gonna lose Home Depot anyway

Al Bundy 07-02-2011 08:20 PM

Looked like the #20 to me, but it's hard to tell

Dylan 07-02-2011 08:23 PM

29 dragging his side panel LMAO

I'm not sure who caused it

Friggin announcers are suppose to know -- they have about 25 people following the race in TNT's truck

I think that one was started with the slow car on the bottom that almost didn't get out of the way (#7). The caused the front to check up and led to the rest of it.

Can't stand Gordon but that was an awesome save!

Dylan 07-02-2011 08:31 PM

2 laps to go 83 gets in to the 4, in to the 24, 24 crashes off 18, 24 spins like a top; 43 (I think) was the lucky dog

Dylan 07-02-2011 08:44 PM

Congrats Ragan... Good job

11th through 20th: 14, 83, 11, 22, 2, 34, 9, 88, 16, 48 caught in the Big One on the last lap

Crapshoot for sure

Would have liked the win. It is good to see the 29 leading the points~

Dylan 07-02-2011 09:00 PM

I'm happy for Ragan - he drove in the front all night long

This should teach Jimmie, Junior & their CC's to not ride in the back all night long.

Junior said, I'm mashing the gas, don't tell me to wait for nobody with two laps to go. I'm mashing the gas!, We got to go!

Junior took a hit in points...

That's not true. First, congrats to David Ragan -- Sweet revenge for Ragan who should have won the Daytona 500 in February if not for changing lanes on a restart. Ragan was leading at the end when NASTYCAR black-flagged him.

Back to Junior and Jimmie: Friends of mine online was listening to Junior and Jimmie's radio. After a late race pit stop separated the pair when Jimmie ran over debris, Junior was left out to dry. When the two finally hooked up, they were caught in one of the two final lap crashes -- with Junior finishing 19th and JimiJo 20th.

Typical restrictor plate racing.

Well, Stewart vowed to kill any driver who blocks him with his bumper if they try to block. Did any drivers draft with him after reading his manifesto?

While I am not a Little E fan, it's probably unfair to expect him to live up the the reputation of his Dad. He doesn't have the "killer" instinct his Dad had nor the driving skills. In fact most of the 2nd generation drivers these days aren't the same as their fathers/grandfathers and alot of that has to do with the difference in NASCAR then and NASCAR now.

I'm not sure I could name one son/daughter of a NASCAR legend that has come close to being successful in this generation. If someone can name one I would be interested in hearing it.

Dylan 07-03-2011 11:15 AM

Worth noting that the Orlando Sentinel said:

"Kurt Busch kissed a girl in Victory Lane last week at Sonoma. No biggie.

The girl wasn’t his wife. Biggie." http://foolstown.com/sm/158.gif

You're right. He's not Dead Dale -- Nobody is -- He's Junior and he possesses great skills, if you care to to pay attention! However, after reading your posts through the years, nothing has changed. You're still posting the same ol' same ol'. Therefore, carry on.

Wow...wearing your heart on your sleeve? I was trying to be nice because I know how sensitive you are about your little prima dona driver...but here goes.

He's a lightly talented wanna-be who is living off his Daddy's name. If his last name wasn't Earnhart he'd hardly pass muster for being a Nationwide driver. He hasn't done anything more that the 2nd level drivers and until he starts doing something more than wandering around trying to blame everyone but himself for not being a better driver, he's doomed to winning one race every 2 or 3 years.

Now go back to your playpen and come talk to me when you want to talk real NASCAR.

kstater 07-03-2011 01:31 PM

Jr. got a ride because of his dad, but he's got 18 wins. Those didn't come by accident, nor does it make him a second rate driver. In fact, it puts him 12th among active drivers if you don't include Elliot.

That is true and he is showing signs of being a factor again. He is driving the best equipment so it is expected. He should have taken this equipment to the winners circle a long time ago. He has been in the mix this year but just about any top 25 driver would fair well in that equipment IMO~
