That's such a brutal call. He caught it, his knee and elbow both hit the ground, and then it was jarred loose by a defender's knee afterwards as he rolled over. It wasn't like the ground jarred it loose.

The ball came out after he was tackled and Pollard's knee knocks it out. Extend the thought, and all that ruling does is justify hitting guys late after they're down in hopes you can knock the ball out when he's on the ground.

Exactly. And with him on the ground with the ball in possession - when the defender touches him the play should be dead immediately. It should have been a catch and dead ball.
