I'm disappointed we lost Carr - but would you like to look at Carr's contract for the next 3 years?

This year he's at 5.5 (vs. $3 million for Smith), starting next year he has a cap hit of $12.2 million, then 12.7 million and then $13.8 million. There's enough dead money that he's almost certain to play those years (though he may not play the last one for them).

I'd take Smith with his cap figure/contract over Carr with his cap figure/contract without batting an eye. And we got Knile Davis with the comp pick for letting Carr go.

Losing Carr was brutal last year, but I think Smith is every bit Carr's equal and we're in far better cap shape than the 'Boys are with Carr.

Carr is not worth 50mil. At all. It's not even like he made a great play there.
