A first round draft pick will be 1/10 the cost (or more) of Hill for FIVE years.

You're up a tree man. Time to get somebody to help you down.

Hill
Juju
Hardman
2nd round pick or 3rd round pick

MVS
Juju
Hardman
1st round or 1st + another pick WR

I pick the former everytime. And in both scenarios we still have a 1st round pick to improve the DLine

You aren't spending a 2nd round pick on a WR in that first scenario because you need every available draft pick for defense.

How many INT’s did Tyreek cause last year? 3-4?

Exactly.

That’s exactly what it is. We can’t just keep paying everybody the highest at their position, especially guys close to 30.

If we paid Tyreek and the injuries started piling up over the next 3 years while our defense sucks, people like you would be bitching about that too.

That decision isn’t made in a vacuum either. The draft picks that allow them to fill their holes and build a better overall roster for the long term are part of this equation too.

It was obviously a tough decision. The Chiefs didn’t want to trade Tyreek. They just had to choose.

Others have already responded to the problems with your simplistic, limiting scenarios but I'll add that there's no way the top tier edge rushers are available at 30.

The answer is 3.

Let's be honest. King is going to literally bitch about everything that is done.

So we're guaranteed to have a defense now? Was the problem in our defense that we didn't spend money on it or was that problem that we had a bunch of underperforming players especially pass rushers?

And if the defense was the problem why bring the worst member back and give him new money and add to his dead money for when he's cut?

I didn't bitch about letting Mathieu go or signing Reid. I called that a really good signing.

But yeah, I'm going to bitch when we trade one of the best players in football period from a position we're already struggling at. I guess I'm just weird like that.

dirk digler 03-25-2022 11:43 AM

Looking at our current depth chart on defense we need:

LDE: Starter

6 backup's with 3 of those being safeties.

Did I say we're guaranteed to have a defense? But now we have 8 picks in the top 135 to add to that defense.

I'm not going to explain to you the whole Frank Clark situation. It's been talked about plenty of ****ing times. Go do some god damn research about it.

Sassy Squatch 03-25-2022 11:44 AM

They didn't have to trade him for a shitty return though, which unfortunately we did.

Guaranteed? No.

But with 2 1st's and 2 2nd's, we have more than double the chance to get a premier pass rusher in the draft AND still fill holes at WR and DB. You simply cannot dismiss our ability to trade up because that's exactly what this trade enabled.

Because it netted us $11M in cap space over 2 years. This really isn't hard to understand at all.

They made the best of a bad situation. Tyreek had some pretty strict parameters for trade partners, namely that he wanted to be in Miami period.
