Need to add more than that, unless I'm missing something. Isn't Oluokun a linebacker?

Talking about Bolton.

It'll tell us how much he learned from the Watkins/Mathieu experience.

Both of them are guys he went into FA on and just kept hitting 'bid' on to win. And with Mathieu he did seem to know when to pull the chute. With Watkins he made the poor decision to allow a playoff run (and his affinity for the player) influence him into retaining him for a year longer than we should have.

We're going to have some guys we have to make that sort of review on in the coming years. Thornhill and surprisingly Wylie are both gonna fall in that group and I think he moves on from both. Then Sneed, Gay and Bolton. I'd say Creed but I think Creed re-sets the C market and we just bite the bullet there.

Creed is a no brainer. Centers are obscenely underpaid. His market is gonna be somewhere around $14.5-15 million which is a slam dunk for an elite C.

I have a feeling that this off-season Brett Veach is gonna be playing it like he did in the “run it back” off-season in Spring 2020.

A lot of our FA’s are replaceable but one guy I’d really like to bring back is Khalen Saunders.

Just not many hogs that are that strong and can run that fast. That guy has a lot of value IMO.

Yeah, you should probably start quoting posts that you're responding to.

FYI Nate Taylor saying on Times Ours that basically Juan Thornhill could get Justin Reid’s contract.

That’s $10.5 million avg. but I think the SB tax puts him around $11-12 million.

And God I hate this but I could absolutely see the Bengals paying him to replace Jessie Bates.

I feel like Thornhill is the most expendable of all the people they could try to resign this offseason.

Why are they letting Bates go? He's elite as well as 1 of their best defenders, if not the best.

They lowballed the shit out of him this last offseason.

I too think they pay Creed. Between Hudson and Morse (neither of which do I believe were bad moves at the time) I would imagine they see the value in keeping him.

Or the opposite could be true. Because KC was successful in drafting and developing Hudson and Morse and now Creed they might think they can do it again. Also remember Andy also drafted Jason Kelce.

Bengals also drafted a safety in the first last year IIRC

That would be amazing. Let them overpay for him. He’s not bad, just not $11-12 million a year good.

They simply can't afford everybody. They're going to have some tough decisions to make in the next couple of years. They have to keep Burrow and Chase so there's going to be some really good players that leave Cinci for bigger paychecks.

They did. Pretty sure they intend for him to replace Bates if they have to let Bates go.

Yeah.

That's why I think Gay only extends this off-season if it's an awfully team friendly deal. I don't think they want to lock themselves in on either guy without seeing a full season of Chenal.

I think he's kindof a hybrid of the two players, but more a combination of their weaknesses than their respective strengths. But if he can develop his ability in space, he might be a suitable replacement for either of them.

I still think they should probably trade Higgins but I don't think they have the juevos to do so.

They'll likely make another hard push this year, then tag/trade him for less next off-season while getting Burrow done.

Early in the season, the prevailing theory was that Chenal was the eventual replacement for Bolton. I think I read that in an Arrowhead Pride or Addict article.
