You are ironically causing your own anguish here. Can you really not see that? fact is this... most SF fans came here to support Alex and the Chiefs. No one claimed that Alex was elite or KC was now SB bound having him. Most of us came in with peace and respect. Well clearly, that melted down very quickly. Why? Likely because (1) Chiefs fans HAVE sadly suffered through many years of pain in losing seasons, so you are already razor thin on civility to outsiders.. and more notably (2) apparently you guys recently went through many troubles from NE fans when Cassel came over to KC... and (3) you were still incredibly angry at the Alex trade, and misdirected your anger to SF's fans. Now looking at (1) and (2) and (3)... does that justify the immediate disrespect shown to SF fans that came in with peace and respect? The honest and obvious answer is NO.. it did/does not. ... but even as this is YOUR house, did you really think that the initial disrespect from KC fans would then be taken with a smile? Well **** that. All of this animosity was created by... Chiefs fans being dickheads (and certainly not all or even most of you)... just the handful or so of very vocal ones that hated the Alex trade to begin with. Now, men own up to their transgressions. So which is? Men or mice? |

Most of us 49er fans are cheering for them and Kaep to try and make another SB run and are cheering for Alex Smith to do well whle the chiefs win at least 8 games because its in the best interest of the 49ers. So I don't understand how that makes any of us (or me) a fair weather fan. But ok, keep telling yourself that and hoping your team sucks until you invest a 1st rd pick on a QB. |

It's the douches who have adopted the Chiefs as a second team because they like the way Alex Smith waxes his eyebrows and leads in a community and is just such a swell guy in general. |

And as a jaded Chiefs fan, I think about getting my hopes up for no other reason than seeing them crushed in January, as opposed to the excitement you're talking about. Not that "seeing them crushed" means ruining my life, or that a SB win is all that matters. Kind of the opposite, really... years of trying to be optimistic, followed by disappointment has led me to apathy; and since I've seen the Chiefs accomplish several ~10 win seasons, I simply don't get up for regular season games like I used to. In the past few years, I've been more excited to see games with two of the big boys than watching shitty Chiefs football. Kansas basketball is the easiest comparison for me, and it's easier for me to see your point of view through that lens... sure, there are disappointments, but the run to the NC game a couple of years ago was awesome, and even the tournament last year was fun. I still wouldn't ever claim a '2nd team', since like I said, there just seems to be a loyalty thing with claiming any, but I can see why someone would want that same feeling for two teams. They deliver excitement every year to the extent that I'll watch a relatively meaningless November game. Watching the Chiefs/Jaguars just doesn't deliver that kind of excitement like it used to 10+ years ago. |
