Unfortunately, we in the Browns world thought the same thing with Weeden.

But he some how found a digger that goes further down than Rock Bottom. He has created a new bottom.

It can get worse. All i have to do, is point to Ej Manuel, and Mike Glennon. They are progressing. Mike Glennon was my fave qb along with Tyler Bray to come out in this draft. I have no idea how scouts missed on him.

That Tyler Bray was a heck of a pickup for KC. Just goes to show that you can find quality prospects in the late rounds or even off the street!
Why waste valuable time and resources going high, when they'll probably end up busting? Say what you will, the Chiefs clearly have excellent patience for handling the quarterback position!

This all begs the question, if the poorly run New York Jets organization hadn't taken a flyer on Gina Smith, how far might he have fallen in the draft?

Geno seems like a swell guy. He'd probably have landed in the 3rd or 4th.

I have gotten a chance to look in awhile. Whose rookie stats are superior Alex or Geno?

Geno's supporting cast is vastly superior to what Alex had at his disposal during his rookie year.

Look at the teams they each inherited lol. Some of these arguments are so skewed its ridiculous. Look at the bigger picture not just this and that. Geno easily has a better surrounding cast than Alex did. Regardless of this, this thread needs to die and then come back alive in 3~4 years when ppl can make a proper assessment and stop arguing a rookie qb stats to a veterans stats.

@evansilva: Mike Glennon is 144 of his last 224 (64.3%) for 1,589 yards (7.09 YPA), 12 TDs, 2 INTs. Best rookie QB this year & it isn't even close.

That's the guy Pioli was rumored to like in the draft as well. Damn you Clark Hunt!

Man we are going to regret passing on a QB.

I had the first letter of one of the names right, anyway.

Just as hand size turned into a big physical metric for prospective QBs, now so will neck length

It'd be a totally different story here.

Tampa has a fantastic pass blocking offensive line and ours is often a sieve. For all the hate I give Smith, he's actually a good fit for us due to his wheels. The guy can scoot while Glennon is probably slower than GoChiefs.
