I was pulling for Vegas until I saw the field yesterday. Looked like a Top Golf for the blind out there.

Obviously there's time to fix it but woof that field looked bad.

They didn’t just dream this up, it’s been in the backs of their minds. Once it’s proven the fans will travel, it’ll be the future.

It really wouldn’t be too bad to have the AFCCG and NFCCG in the same stadium as the Super Bowl each year. Especially if you drop the extra week between them out. That could be good for all the teams to reduce travel and increase practice time.

No.

It's funny how some people here have spun it as "NFL wants to guarantee the AFCCG isn't at Arrowhead again", while some Bills fans are spinning it as "NFL wants to guarantee golden boy Mahomes doesn't have to go on the road in the playoffs".

Of course, they're conveniently forgetting....
1) Their team prioritized the mental health of the team over playoff positioning, and however right/wrong that is, they left it to the NFL to decide the latter.
2) The NFL rulebook says to use win percentage in these cases, so the Chiefs should have the 1 seed, bye, and HFA throughout.

Be made at your own team if you think they should have resumed play at some point and prioritized their playoff seeding, not at the NFL for bending over backwards to accommodate.

I’ve said a few time now the fans would regret their not playing but at the same time they love having this excuse built in for when their team loses and will enjoy complaining about getting screwed or things handed to the Chiefs more than actually winning.

I personally think the neutral site AFC/NFC title game is a load of bullshit.

You play the entire season to decide this stuff, and if you make it neutral it cancels out a huge reason why you even play those games.

Teams are built for cold weather, warm weather, etc. You take a cold weather team and negate everything they built their team for if you move the title game to a dome or warm weather.

And that's not even getting into the revenue side for the owners.

I could see the owners liking the idea of getting 50% every time they play in the game instead of 100% some years and nothing other years.

And yeah, it completely dilutes an already mostly pointless regular season... at that point you could just rest your starters a couple weeks, especially if you know you aren't getting the bye, deal with a warm up home WC game, then only deal with one road game in the divisional round.

I know some people LOVE to take any little thing and extrapolate it out into something that's going to be the norm forever... this one is mildly more interesting because I think the NFL is stupid enough to do it.

kysirsoze 01-08-2023 09:55 AM

Eh. Neutral site won't happen because Buffalo isn't getting past Cincinnati.

mr. tegu 01-08-2023 09:55 AM

You guys really need to stop worrying about the neutral site. I get the principal of being irritated by it but the Bills are not getting that far even if they win today.

no because that wouldn't have sent a big enough virtue signal for these huge pussies to feel good about themselves

we NEEDED to ignore the rule, vote to change the rule /schedule during the last week and impose arbitrary penalties on teams not named Buffalo because otherwise someone might think ghey done CARE enough.

don't you care????

it's not the neutral site that pisses me off the most. the entire process, including the "vote" where the affected teams got this shit imposed on them by non affected teams is bullshit

You don't change rules after the fact.

There is a reason they specifically made a rule for game cancellations.

The NFL could have released a statement Monday night saying as much and NONE of this emotional buildup would have taken root.

Nashville is an 8 hour drive from KC and 10 hours from Buffalo so it’s not a bad idea. I went to the game there in 2019 and it was probably 60% Chiefs fans. It’s definitely a good place to visit for a road game and probably not as gritty as New Orleans.

Will someone excuse my ignorance and educate me, please? With the Chiefs win yesterday, they have clinched the #1 seed and first round bye. What needs to happen for the AFCCG to be played at Arrowhead and not a neutral site? And yes, I'm assuming the Chiefs will be playing on that game.

Thanks.
