Thread is losing its mo'.

Luckily, I am not. I am not able to workout at the same time every day like I was, but I am able to get it in everyday at some time.

Last night, I just went and did my core. I just run out of time and I don't get to it as much as I should, so, on my off days, I will just do core.

I've been having trouble keeping up with one or the other, never both.

This week i've done both and i've lost a pound already. It's hard to keep focus sometimes, especially after 6 months.

I havent' been able to lift for awhile a lot goin on. I should be able to get one in today though.

Kettlebells class outside, 98 degrees. Turkish getups 3 min each arm, clean/press followed by front squat followed by rows 10 reps each arm, snatches 3 min each arm. Tabada sets of body weight rows, body weight lunges, Hindu pushups and swings, 3 sets 20 seconds each. Rather unsafe driving home after that.

Vicious workout even without the heat. What size kettlebell you doing that with? With that sort of high rep workout, even "light" weight will kick your ass. And kettlebell front squats have to be my least favorite (translate: ass kickingest) exercise.

I use a 16k bell for turkish getups and windmills, and a 20k for everything else, except for rows, where I just grab the heaviest one I can find. I think it's an 88 pounder. Ass: Kicked.

Nice. I'm still loving the kettlebells. It's pretty much my main workout. I'm amazed at how easily I can maintain my physique and fitness with just a couple of kettlebell workouts a week. I had a few weeks where I wasn't able to get into the gym much because we were traveling, but I was doing maybe 2 kettebell workouts a week. I may have lost a little bit of tone, but not much during that time.

You never talk about your workouts, but I had a hunch that you were probably a fitness freak yourself. Awesome!

I've been going at it big time. I'm running 4 miles and lifting on lift days, and running 6.25 miles on non lift days. I'm working on increasing my speed and that's going well. It's a great, great time of year to be running outdoors. It generally doesn't get above 70-75 out here, so the days it does, I just run on the treadmill.

I'm eating too much and not losing much weight, but that's fixable. I've been fasting this week and last week quite a bit and plan to keep that up. The trick is not overdoing it on days I'm not fasting, or eating way too much on the days I am.

It's a process. /Scott Pioli

It blows my mind you can run that much. I struggle to get a mile done. I've done a mile and a half once.

One of my best friends whom I've known for over 20 years didn't believe me until last weekend. We went up to the ape caves and it was packed. We had to park about a mile away from the entrance and then realized we needed a parking permit to park in the forest. I ran up the mountain to get it, and then came back with it and he was shocked at how fast I got back. He told me he thought I was "exaggerating" when I told him I could run those distances.

Remember, I started off where you did. If I can do it, you can too. Just keep working at it my friend.

I got a good one in today. It's over 100 degrees outside and weight room doesn't have AC so you could get a good sweat going reading a book in there.

HonestChieffan 07-14-2010 05:38 PM

Dont go to gyms. But have dropped 40 pounds and dinner tonight is 25..count em 25 beautiful shrimp with a kick your butt cocktail sauce and big ole glass of Crystal Light Lemonade.

Next 5 days will be in a handgun school, self defense and defensive shooting school in the Mississippi delta just outside of memphis and plan to sweat a ton and eat the hell out of Memphis BBQ.

Time for a photo update. I think I've progressed surprisingly well since my last one, especially considering I haven't been hitting it that hard this summer. Just doing more heavy weight, low rep stuff.

Could definitely still be leaner and more defined in the waist/abs, but my diet has been shit since summer started. Kettlebells have rocked my delts/shoulders.
