They did it during Westbrook's last start too. Matheny is absolutely loathe to use him in the 7th. I understand the reservation, but there is no way that Westbrook isn't a better option than anyone who isn't Mujica in the pen right now.

Gast is the next man up if there's an injury in the rotation, IMO. Plus, he's not on the 40 man. Releasing Salas would fix that, but you still need to cut him to do that.

There is no way Larussa would have pulled Boggs from the closer role and sent him down as fast as Methany. :thumb:
