Explain how a guy who averaged 1.5 first downs per game is "carrying" the passing game.

Full of shit? When you ignore somebody, it shows when you post and gives you an option "view post" for that post, I had the feeling you were replying about me because you LOVE me, after viewing, I can quote you.

So, what was I full of shit about?

Also I was mentioning Rep which I thought was public but found out when I looked, is not, I'll be happy to quote it for you, feel free to make a new thread about "us" if you feel the need to derail the Dunta/Lewis/McCluster thread.

He's the only other receiver catching balls besides Bowe......

That sounds like a pretty strong endorsement of Dexter.

Again, it's not surprising that McCluster racked up more catches, given that he runs short routes and no one bothers to cover him because his catches are the equivalent of runs up the middle and we were routinely down by 20-30 points.

It is, actually, a strong endorsement. On a team where we sucked bad and nobody tried, Dexter showed up to play games, just like Jamaal did.

I don't care if he's never going to be a 1,000 yard receiver, as long as he plays hard. Its not like any other receiver stepped up besides him and bowe.

You didn't answer the question.

How is 1.5 first downs per game "carrying" anything?

He's basically a guy who racks up garbage yards that don't result in anything. Not first downs. Not touchdowns. Not game-changing plays.

He's the WR equivalent of a linebacker who racks up a lot of tackles 10 yards down the field.

That pretty much sums up the whole team.

When you catch the ball 4 times a game for 8 yards a pop, 1.5 first downs is about par for the course.

If you're always catching the first and 10 pass for 8 yards, and running everything on 2nd/3rd and short, your receivers aren't going to convert a lot of first downs period, especially not your backfield, check down, quick slant option.

Don't be stupid, you know that to be true and you should have known that answer before asking it.

And you realize that any slapdick off the street can do that, right?

Except for Jon Baldwin, who can't even get open and averages like 1.2 catches per game.

At least Dexter can get open......:banghead::LOL:

Dexter had 24 first downs for the year, Jon Baldwin had 14.

You're comparing human shit to dog shit.

No, you just can't recognize statistics for what they are. Dexter's routes are short routes, that is what he is there for, usually across coverage, usually check downs. Yet you try to compare him to guys in roles he isn't used for.

Baldwin converts for first downs because he runs deeper routes, he doesn't catch them often because he can't get open.

I mean, if Dexter could get open against Dunta Robinson, and Baldwin couldn't, what does that say for Baldwin?

Finally, 9 pages later I got to steer you idiots enough to connect the two ends of the argument together to put us back at square one. Dunta Robinson.

He's obviously good enough to cover Jon Baldwin.ROFLROFLROFLROFLROFL

That's interesting, considering he didn't cover him on one single snap last season.

You said it yourself, any slapstick off the street could do what Dexter does, remember?

Now I'm just using your words against you, this never bodes well for your argument.

They didn't need to, even uncovered Baldwin couldn't get open.
