Assholes around here that gang up on Adams need to explain why the NFL has to wait until "legal process to play out" for something that occurred in the stadium while the player was still in his game uniform.
It might end up making sense for Adams to pay his lawyer to avoid a small fine, because that case is an acquittal if tried. And if the KCMO Municipal Court Judge rules guilty, an appeal to state court for a whole new trial and a right to request a jury is allowed and City of KCMO is not really going to want to spend much time to collect a small fine and lose because the clumsy mother****er was supposed to watch where the **** he is going and not cross walkways that are supposed to be guarded by the home team. Clumsy mother****er's bodily injuries seem not to be provable beyond a reasonable doubt and "intent" was so instantaneous it seems not likely to be provable beyond a reasonable doubt considering that Adams was where he was supposed to be and the clumsy mother****er was not. JR Hobbs should request a trial date in February at the first virtual hearing, and watch the clumsy mother****er not bothering to show up for the trial and the case being dropped because the Chiefs will have paid the clumsy mother****er a few dollars of insurance money for not preventing the clumsy mother****er from running into people. If there is a game suspension, it should be this next game against the Texans. Assholes around here should explain why not. Adams was in his game uniform. "Let the legal process play out" in this situation might indicate that the league knows that the Chiefs and the clumsy mother****er share blame and that Adams pushed him harder than he needed to, but he had a right to push the clumsy mother****er. Adams paid at least $12 k in state and local taxes to play in that game and might have paid double or triple that much. KCPD and KCMO should not write a ticket and initiate a KCMO Municipal Court Case over this because it is an acquittal if tried case and the clumsy mother****er is not going to show up and testify. |

You can blame the victim for clumsiness all you want, but it is highly improbable that he orchestrated the incident. You can dismiss Adams' behavior all you want, but it is beyond dispute that he did shove the guy to the ground. Furthermore, he walked away after doing so. He claims that he felt immediate regret, but he failed to demonstrate that regret with any action such as helping the guy up. The criminal legal consequences should be pretty minor. The civil legal consequences should be fairly minor. However, the NFL has a long history of punishing players for making the NFL look bad and if there is one thing certain about all of this, it is the fact that he made the NFL look bad. |
