Why do you think "MJ fans" would feel any differently about lebron for passing a record that MJ never owned? If lebron had passed Michael for #1 then I'd understand why you'd think they were being defensive about lebron being #1. But as it stands it changes nothing in the debate between the two since MJ never claimed that title.

Maybe if lebron didn't force his teams to trade all their draft capital and young talent all the time his teams could have developed some players.
