I still think they should probably trade Higgins but I don't think they have the juevos to do so.

They'll likely make another hard push this year, then tag/trade him for less next off-season while getting Burrow done.

Yep. The guys they're likely to lose this season are mostly on defense. Especially Bates.

Early in the season, the prevailing theory was that Chenal was the eventual replacement for Bolton. I think I read that in an Arrowhead Pride or Addict article.

It was interesting to see that when Chenal came in to base sets, he was playing the Mike w/ Bolton moving back over to the Will where he played as a rookie.

Not gonna lie, I friggen love that alignment. Gay's a ready-built SDE, though I think you'd have to move them around a bit here and there to really take advantage of Gay's strengths as a blitzer (don't really want him blitzing from the strong side that often).

They simply can't afford everybody. They're going to have some tough decisions to make in the next couple of years. They have to keep Burrow and Chase so there's going to be some really good players that leave Cinci for bigger paychecks.

That would be amazing. Let them overpay for him. He’s not bad, just not $11-12 million a year good.

I mean if you're gonna pay 12 for our guy (who's decent) then just pay the 16 for Bates.

If they're smart they trade Higgins and get a haul. There's no way they should pay Higgins 25+ when they know they're gonna have to pay Chase 30+ and Burrow 45+

I'm sure they could get at least a 1st from some team for the right to pay Higgins (who gets single coverage alot due to Chase) to be their #1 WR. This allows them put that extra money to keeping other players.

But **** it, I hope they do dump 100 million into 3 players and have to let everyone else leave lol.

FYI Nate Taylor saying on Times Ours that basically Juan Thornhill could get Justin Reid’s contract.

That’s $10.5 million avg. but I think the SB tax puts him around $11-12 million.

And God I hate this but I could absolutely see the Bengals paying him to replace Jessie Bates.

Why? Thornhill isn't that good. That game where Allen and Davis put up 4 TDs iwas enough for Veach to say **** it and go and get Bryan Cook.

Pretty sure that was because of Sorenson and not Thornhill.

Sorensen and Hughes.

Sneed had a rough day as well.

Thornhill really wasn't the problem in that game. Thornhill never continued on the same course he appeared to be on as a rookie where he looked like a possible top 10(ish) safety and real premier robber. But after he got his mind right, he was never worse than a plus player; a good safety.

Thornhill is a good safety.

He'll get a nice contract somewhere, probably like Run said, similar to Reid.

That's what they drafted Cook for .

I’ve never understood the amount of hate he gets.

Agreed, but the fact they lowballed him once makes me think they do it again.

Sassy Squatch 02-22-2023 12:20 PM

Just watched it again. At the very least 2 of Davis 4 TDs are primarily his fault.

O.city 02-22-2023 12:46 PM

So if we aren't gonna keep OBJ long term, you just tag and trade and get what you can.

Go trade for Tunsil and make him the highest paid LT in the league.

Houston is most likely going to be drafting Young or Stroud why in the **** would they weaken their OL?

He never was as physical and his cuts didn't seem as sharp after his rookie year, but I sure as **** would prefer seeing him back there than Sorenson and the 2021 version of Mathieu.

Why? If we aren't keeping OBJ long term, which I think is entirely possible, expect the Chiefs to draft their own guy.
