It was a lot of fun, but I had to keep from smashing her unrealistic dreams in nearly every other conversation. Small town girl with a kid but no custody, serious daddy issues, a shit job, no money, no college, a pot smoking past that got her in trouble, living at home, and big dreams of building a log cabin on a big farm and traveling all over the country. :spock:

I regularly dodged the "what do you think" question like I was running with the bulls and had to look away every time she said, "oh, it's just money". I constantly felt like this....

Maybe she has not had anyone in her life that she values tell her the truth. My friends yell at me and thank me at the same time. For telling them the honest truth.

Well that is if you care for her at all.

Speaking of age gaps, why is it that so many women refuse to date men who are younger than they are? I don't tend to connect with many women my own age for basically the same reasons that ghak brought up (delusional, unrealistic, etc); I'm 24, and tend to be more attracted to women in their mid-to-upper twenties.

Despite the fact that I have a stable, upwardly-mobile, relatively high-paying job and practically never "party", I'm consistently "too young" for those women? Keep in mind, they're often the ones who have been dating men in their 30's from when they were my age. It seems a bit hypocritical, but I don't feel like it's worth it to push the issue. Preferences are preferences, even if they go against my wishes.

Do you have a noticeable hump or a problem with your drool? 24 is a fun age in a man. Theyre not carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders yet and see nothing but potential in life. Had few beers, been laid enough times to know that neither is the end goal. I dunno. Maybe you need a beard. It seems like girls in Minnesota like beards.

For the first time in my life I'm dating someone younger, but it's only by 2 years. I think we've just been told so often that we mature faster than men that we start to believe it.

I'm not everyone's cup of tea, I'm sure, but nobody is. I've been told that I'm good-looking by enough people that I believe it on occasion.

I had a beard for a few months, but chopped it off recently at the behest of my two Grandmothers ("Stop hiding your face!"). While I had it, though, it didn't seem to affect my manly appeal for better or for worse.

The only difference: I don't look quite as natural in flannel shirts.

I am a 26 year old married guy, its amazing how much more I get hit on now then I did back when I was single. The damn ring is a beacon of hope for women.

LMAO

It's a matter of the difference between men and women. I look at a married woman and think "hey....how'd he end up with her" or "sucks to be him".

Single women look at a married guy and go "he must be doing something right....I wonder what it is."

This is a good technique. In fact, it worked for about a decade 20 to 30. It landed me a pretty good wife eventually.

I know if real life was a porno guys would ne cheating non stop. If a ten came up to me and said come have sex with me in my car it would be hard to say no. It's a biological thing.

This may be an extreme example but this is an example of what some of you guys are up against. I remember those days and not very fondly either.

She wants her sexual needs fulfilled, and the ring shows that you will be keeping your mouth shut. No drama on either side, both benefit. :D

One time when my wife and I were playing pictionary a long time ago, we were both the clue drawers on different teams. The word was "toupe", but she didn't recognize it and asked me what it was. I told her it was the platform a lion stands on in the circus. Hilarity ensued as I drew a man's wig and she drew a lion stand. I had a big laugh after we got the score, but I guess it was technically cheating.

Here are some good websites to meet a nice woman. I've had excellent luck on all of them.

ashleymadison.com
adultfriendfinder.com
fling.com
farmersonly.com
blackpeoplemeet.com
christianmingle.com

Dave Lane endorses Christianmingle. He picks up dates and subsequently ruins their lives all the time.

I would have said "no" to the former, but I'm not sure that's true. I think I did develop a kernel of a relationship with someone while I was dating my former ex-wife (then my fiance). Was it cheating? Not in a physical sense. But emotionally? I don't know. Maybe it was.

And, yes. I've definitely been cheated on. Lots.

You just have to take baby steps and stay motivated.

I think you guys have taken what I said in a direction I didn't intend it to go. I'm not dissatisfied with my life. I don't hate myself in any way. I'm overweight, but it's because I like to eat everything they tell you you shouldn't. I also like to cycle, to the tune of about 2500 miles a year, so the damage from the food isn't too bad, particularly during the summer. But washboard abs I will never have. And that's fine. I'd rather have pizza and french fries. The downside of which is accepting the fact that something I enjoy is what makes me unattractive to what I consider attractive members of the opposite sex. Similar thing with the way I spend my days. I'd rather spend my time doing the things I enjoy, rather than doing relationship-y things. I'm not an outgoing person. I'm an introvert. I like video games and books and movies, and I like doing them alone. I cycle alone. I walk alone. I can't really think of anything I like doing with anybody else. That's just how I'm wired. It's not exactly conducive to dating. I'm not an easy person to live with.

Tie that in with the reality that life is a series of choices. The choices I've made before now define who I am and where I am. I'm good with that. I've come to acknowledge that there are certain things in my life that aren't subject to change. My finances are what they are. My looks are what they are. I am who I am.

And now I'm old. Which is the worst thing of all. Because if I was interested in dating, it sure as hell wouldn't be with anyone my own age. Ugh. Wrinkles and baggage. No thanks.

You liked the idea of doing stuff with someone when you married that wretched woman. There is easily a compatible chick for you its just easier to keep going on without one. Just sometimes babe, the soul needs someone else to get up and get the towel. Just so it doesn't get crusty.

I would lie to my boyfriend and say you are gay just so we could run around town together.
